Who would of thought I would regret not buying more micro SD cards late last year with all those buy 1 get 1 free deals.

  • Oops; a dupe comment!

  • $6 more for the 128gb Sandisk: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07HHD7C7T/ref=ppx_yo_d...

    Just bought 2!

Note that Sandisk Ultra has UHS-1, in which writing speed is significantly slower than Samsung Evo+'s U3 (90mb/s) and thus not fast enough for 4k video recording. Maybe ok for phone storage but not for GoPro or DJI drones.

      • +1

Both Samsung and Sandisk cards are UHS-I. U1 is a different rating and is slower than U3.
        U1 / U3 shoud not be confused with UHS-I / UHS-II.
Currently UHS-II micro SD cards are very rare and devices that support them are almost non-existant.

      • I use this in Go pro, Yi 4k+, samsung 360 4k without any problems. Though the same in 128gb did not work. Sandik pros also gave problems.

    • +2

Sandisk is Grade 1 so much more likely to drop frames writing 4K than the Grade 3 Samsung card that was posted. But if you're not wanting 4K video performance the Sandisk is a good deal. Otherwise avoid.

      • Yeh no idea about 4k recording but yes this card is for phone storage only.

      • Also your post for the Sandisk is a dupe of this one a day or two ago https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/536756

      • The current model SanDisk ultras write at around 40MB/s which should be enough for 4k unless you are using high bitrate from DSLR .

Imo what is wrong with SanDisk Ultra is that they are not long term reliable.

If you use them for dashcam or constant read/write such as daily phone activity my belief is that the card will most likely die within 3 years.

The higher grade cards are more reliable in terms of heavy read/write.

  • 128G EVO Plus use to be under $20 plus delivery, now we call this a deal?

    • well… sometimes you own a device can only support to certain gbs.

my car camera only can support up to 64gb, even if 512gb cheaper but still unusable.

wonder if any newer car camera can support up to 128gb

  • Picked up a couple in December for $5 each delivered.

  • Any deal on endurance sd cards. Need one for raspberry pi.

    • You don't need a high endurance SD card for R Pi. If you do need to do that much write, use USB with SSD or HDD.

      • I am using primarily for pihole, 24x7. Is it ok to use non endurance card.?

        • yep!

        • Could configure the pi to write logs to a HDD (either USB or network) or set up a RAM disk
