That picture is not 4th Gen iPod. Change it to 4th Gen one to reduce confusion.

    • It has been done. Thank you for letting us know.

I still see 3rd Gen photo on your website as of 5.05pm.

We have addressed it from our end. Takes a couple of minutes to get refreshed through the CDN.

FYI: New iPhones (and probably new iPods) will be announced Oct 4th.

Your shipping rates are a bit off mate. $290.45 for regular post, $3700 for International Express post.

    • Been addressed. For some reason the price got entered in to the weight. Thanks.

Regular postage rate for this item should be an OzBargain deal in itself - Saving of $3409.55 over international express.. I'll take it!

    Few things worth noting here:

    1. Inflated RRP price. Claimed to be $359, Apple's RRP is $349, so you're not saving quite as much as you think.
    2. As others have pointed out, new iPod's/iPhone's are imminent.
    3. Unit has been available from major retailers for $329 (Not quite as good as the OP's price) for some time.

    Examples:
    http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/ipod-mp3-portables/ipods/appl…
    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/A8178/apple-ipod-touch-32gb

I would say pass on this one, but to each his own.

    • Afaik new ones aren't going to be too different to the old gen. Dual core unlikely!!!

  • Great deal :)
But just a tip regarding the 'Apple Product Cycles,' if you're looking to buy older generation models (and not the newest one coming out), then buy them AFTER the new model is released.

  • When you have a smart phone, what the ipod touch use for?

    • +2

They say that smartphones will eventually kill dedicated devices like Mp4 players, GPS units and digital cameras, but so far that hasn't happened yet.

That's because they've yet to create a smartphone that can truly match up to the performance or quality of said dedicated device, although we're getting pretty close (e.g a Nokia N8 would probably be as good as a 8 megapixel point and shoot camera, plus GPS)

Or perhaps there are a select group of people who probably don't own smartphones but still need a dedicated device for their music. But I know people who own smarthphones, tablets and dedicated mp3 devices, though they probably are just way too rich…

      • When someone invents a smartphone that has a battery that lasts at least 12 hours of non-stop use without having to switch on airplane mode, or stay on Wi-Fi, that's when those stand alone products will be made redundant.

Listen to 4 hours of music, make 30 minutes of calls, have the screen on to read roughly 30 smses, read 200 whatsapp messages, reply, 45 minutes of web browsing, turn the GPS on for 45 minutes to guide you somewhere, take 50 photos, some video, play 30 minutes of games. Can any phone do all of that in a single charge? Not that I'm aware of.

        • there's a thing called a portable charger

    • cheapo daddys buy these and stuff them with 'free' games in the hopes that their sons forget the 3DS/PS Vita

Lots of people don't have/want a smartphone. Personally I don't want to play close on $1000 for a phone prepaid, or $50+/mth for 2 years for something I don't need. I need an MP3 player and I want to use some of the apps. Only problem is the camera on the iPod is arse and that won't be changing as Apple wants to migrate people away from iPod to iPhone.

      • Until they improve or double the battery life in an all in one device then I will migrate from the ipod to a smartphone.
