Bought but don't know what to do with it yet :).

  • Tempted, but those procs are sooo pricey

Great price, but only 3 PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, strange for TRX40 motherboard.

    • Agree, if you go TR would be for all those sweet sweet exta PCIe lanes (extra HDD's, video cards, etc) otherwise how would you consume all those extra cores, since seems the mkt for the mb seems to focus on gaming, I am assuming several VMs with each linked to a video card? Anyway I am just convincing myself I do not need this.

      • For me would be useful to put 4 video cards for machine learning load, some prev gen TR motherboards had 5 16x slots, 3 is quite a downgrade.

I was tempted to pick one up, but I then looked at the price of the cheapest TRX40 CPU….

The cpu alone is more expensive than my entire computer

    • Get this now and the CPU price will drop very quickly. More so than the motherboard.

So many front USB ports. I need them on the back. If only I could get a motherboard with nothing but a wifi antenna, one ethernet port and all the rest of the space filled with usb ports.

In particular it really kills me to waste the space with analogue audio ports and a second ethernet port. I can tolerate the ps/2, but barely.

Cannot resist this price, especially comes with the 4 M.2 expansion card, which it alone worths around $200. I only found the Gigabyte one sold separately. Just bought one. I will wait for a significant price drop for 3960X.

  • Can anyone recommend compatible RAM for this mobo? Looking for 64gb (4x16gb) https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/hFdrxr/gskill-trident-z-… but didn’t see this o the ASRock QVL memory list, PC part picker shows it’s compatible.

      Hi Xilften,

The Ram you have chosen will work just fine.

The board supports DDR4 up to 4666MHz.

      OP

  • Anyone get the motherboard shipped/delivered? I ordered on last Friday and no order status update yet.

    • Hi Shiningblade,

All boards were dispatched last night
