    1.58kg isn't light for a 14" laptop in 2020 I think. But good price.

    • +4

2 in 1s tend to be a bit heavier

      • Makes sense.

      • Should be: 2kg in 1kg

  • Hi guys you have to go through student edge portal or student store to avail the discount. Cheers.

    • Trying that and it's still saying code not found :(

      • Ok are you logged in? Cause I can still see the discount at my end

      • Try in incognito mode

    • Cool, my unidays wasn't working but i think this is.

      • No worries

        • +4

          Bingo it works!
Now to decide if this saving is enough for me to forgive HP for all the issues I've had with them over the years… Starting with i7 overheating and ending with omen 'price errors' ;)

          • @khepri: Blame Intel

          • +1

@khepri: same I always fall for HP, but every machine has had issues.

    amazing find OP, thank you

  • This tablet has Intel HD Graphics 620.

Is this still the most powerful Intel integrated graphics? Any idea when new ones will be released

    • +4

If you want better integrated graphics go AMD Ryzen 4000, they absolutely destroy anything intel has in power efficiency and outright speed, as well as graphics capability.

      • which laptops have the AMD Ryzen 4000?

    • +1

Intel cpus with Gen11 Iris Plus graphics are their most powerful but pricey.

    • +2

no. G1 in 10th gen CPUs have been upgraded

      620 has 24 EU units
      G1 has 32 units

  • +1

This worked for me. Note that they ship in 4-6 weeks though

  • is the link working for anyone? Mine says I need to verify by email, but no email forthcoming…

    Any good ?

      Ive got a 2019 spectre, bought the i5-8th gen 8gb ram, 256gb ssd 13" for $1220.

For a laptop, it is pretty good, battery life is one of the best out there.

As a 2-in-1, it sorely lacks in that department. I do not think it gets close to a surface pro level. Its not unuseable, but for someone who got a spectre over an envy for the whole pen thing and the "best of both worlds" mentality where I could get a fully fledged laptop and something to make digital notes in, it did not fulfill its purpose.

For $2009 you are however getting an i7-10th gen, 16gb ram and a 2tb ssd so it definitely is very good bang for buck.

        & 4k display

      • +1

Pulled the trigger. Thanks for your input.

        • +1

Likewise. Although only hp40% worked not 45. Bought 3 year to cover me that extra year on OLED failure. first time OLED (non phone) let's see how it goes! And cause I like that piece of mind over saving a bit more coin (ozbargainer card downvote haha). 4k looked awesome side by side at jb with with 1080 spectre and even the Dell 4k xps13 ips panel. This vid also helped win me over: https://youtu.be/xhE0jPsNK_0

          • @Jip: I bought this laptop early Saturday morning @ 40% discount. I got a fright later that night when I saw there was 45% code as well. I'm surprised 45 didn't work on laptop?

            • @MrKingi: Yeah it recognised the code, but said the laptop wasn't valid. Also no cashrewards cause Education store! oh well.

      • +1

How did you get $2009?? I bought the 2TB, 4K, 16GB and paid $2160, on HP40%, waited 6 weeks and it arrived a week ago. I apply the same code through Unidays and StudentEdge and it's the same HP40% code that works, the HP45% doesn't work.

I tried it on Sun 17/5 around 11am.

        SUB TOTAL $ 3,599.00
        E-VOUCHER $ 1,439.60
        DELIVERY FREE
        TAX $ 196.31
        TOTAL
        Inclusive of GST
        $ 2,159.40

        No $150 gift card either.

        @concento
4k screen is good, as expected. Battery life not tested as I use it plugged in.

        • I said $2009 assuming that whoever buys it treats the $150 giftcard (if there is one) as money off the laptop.

          • @thriftysach: But the $150 gift card is not available in the EDU store is it?

So confirming for the HP Spectre X360 (2TB, 4K, 16GB)
            1. There is no 45%
            2. There is no $150 gift card

I'm on the verge of contacting HP and asking for a refund, but looks like this doesn't apply.

            Just wanting to confirm facts.

For those that don't want to sign up to the Student Edge site, here is the link they provide after signup: http://s-edg.com/hp-lto

Make sure when you go to the HP store it shows Student Store in top right corner. Then search the product mentioned by OP or other deals. If it has Australia Store in the top right corner you will not see the 40% off deals.

  • +1

Noob question: I am not a student, can I still get this deal?

    • Yes, I just did (and I'm not a student)

      • Hi, Did you just sign up?

    • yes using link above

  • Is it easy to upgrade the RAM to 16 GB?

  • Any idea of using this for editing video (Premiere Pro)?

  • +19

It's $714 if you use HP45% code. I'm not buying this laptop but I did buy HP ENVY x360 - 15-dr1049tx last Thursday which has a RRP price of $2,889 But I got at $1,594 using HP45% code. The code works for all laptops with the 40% Unidays discount. Someone point this out on another deal.

    • Just save me 65 dollars, thanks !

    • thanks for the extra 5%!

hmmm looking at the envy or the same spec HP Pavilion x360 with the 14"

What made you go for the envy over the pavillion? Just the 15" screen size?

Did you get the $97 HP 3 year 3 day Onsite Notebook Service?

      • Tbh,I hadn't fully explored the site to look for cheaper laptops with the same or similar specs as the HP envy that I bought. A 15" is definitely my favourite. I prefer it over anything less or more.

I went for the envy for the slightly better specs, better built and the 15" display.

The person I talked to via chat, who called me to process my order on the phone, said I can buy any of their warranty/serices anytime within the next 12 months, so that is what I will be doing.

        • you bought the oled model? not worried about burn in?

          • @sct911: I didn't really think about that. I've had Samsung phones and tablets with amoled displays that have had no burn in, fingers crossed the same happens with this laptop.

        • Thanks Misogi - everyone has their own preferences!

At least HP have 14 days returns so if we dont like it we can return it :)

          • @mrshorty: Yes. I was expecting a 4-6 weeks wait. The laptop was shipped yesterday, so I am really happy that I won't be waiting too long. My last laptop was a 15" 2014 HP envy that died last year. I had a pleasant experience with getting them to repair the hinges of that laptop for free outside the 12 months warranty and I didn't pay for any of the extended warranty.

            • @Misogi Kumagawa: Do you think the CPU has enough power to run 4K display? I also bought the same model hope it will be a fast machine on a day to day usage. I don’t play game

              • @ozvictor: I'm not sure. I hope so too.

              • +1

@ozvictor: I don’t play games either and have i5-4590 and it runs 4k with no problems if that is any help :)

        • @Misogi Kumagawa: how is the battery life and overall performance and your experience. I need suggestion in chosing between this (ENVY for $1594 and HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1051tx for $1044.45

          • @Modesty: I saw the Pavilion in store it’s full plastic, while the Envy is full aluminum which looks a lot more premium so I went with the Envy

    • Thank you !

    • +1

      I bet many people tried HP50% :))

    • Thank you! I eventually pulled the trigger to grab one of this becoz of your comment, I don't really need a laptop though lol

    • Great find mate. Cheers

    • also hp30% works for every hp25% eligible laptop. used it successfully for a 10th gen i5 laptop

    • Does the envy have a back-lit keyboard?

    • Hi do you guys know how much difference is the i7 model and the i5 model,
      i saw this one https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx…

the only diffrence seems to be the CPU, and after discount the price difference is $385 dollars, is it worth extra 385 for the i7 model?

  • +4

Real question is pull the trigger on this one or ThinkPad E595 for $777

  • +2

    Thanks. Picked up this for $1594. Says shipping will be 6 to 10 days! I7 512gb 16gb 15" 4k. https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx…

    • I used the HP45% code.

      • I also bought this one, dunno how long the battery can last on a 4K display, also I hope it will not have screen burn in

        • -3

Prob get 2hrs if ur luckky

  • How does this compare to the ThinkPad E595 from the deal earlier in the week (aside from the hybrid tablet component)?

  • +3

    Thanks OP + Misogi Kumagawa
