      • With the pavilions there seems to be some discount going on with the HP care packs that come up under additional accessories when going through checkout

2 year 3 day Onsite Notebook Service was priced at $17. 3 Year 3 day Onsite Notebook Service was $97. So I opted for the 2 year. Shame the code didnt apply to them as well! :(

        • Is there a pen included in this?
Can you charge by USB C?

          • @concento: I wasnt after a pen but im guessing it doesnt.

            1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate)
            2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (Data Transfer Only)

I think the Envy x360 had USB-A sleep and charge

        • Thanks, I found it. Mine is $32 for the 2 year 3 day Onsite Notebook Service. It a huge bargain considering the regular price is $199.

        • If you dont use code then 2 year service will cost you $149 alone. Be happy

    • I ordered mine a month ago. Had to contact HP to find out the order status because this popped up on the product "Ships in 4 – 6 weeks*". They said mine actually went through before that and DHL hasn't updated that it's moved. Got a free HP pen out of them though.

      • Do they automatically include the free pen? Or do you call them and ask them to give you for free? I already placed my order dunno if they can still give a free pen?

    Thanks OP
Also, there was a mention of 100$ gc on top of the screen for this model? Did anyone got any confirmation about it

  • Oh you know im pissed I didn't see the 45pc God damn

    • Just order another one with 45% off and call them to cancel the other one

    • Yeah I also realised today after I made purchase yesterday:(.

Hi guys I bought this for my kid about 18 months ago and now it doesn’t charge anymore. It has been taken to Jb hifi and after 2 weeks still not repaired. I paid $1000 for it. Not very happy and the quality isn’t great. I would probably get a second hand Mac as it will give you a better quality laptop imo

    • How old is your kid and what did he do to the charging port? Or did the laptop work plugged in and just the battery died and couldn't charge?

      • She’s 17, so knows how to look after things. The laptop is quite flimsy imo. The charging port wasn’t working anymore (as jb tried to charge another laptop and the charger worked)
I suppose for $700 is a good deal (we paid $1000), but be aware of the Built quality

  • Is anyone know if Laptop in Australia is 1 year or 2 years warranty? As refer to consumer law, thanks

    • I think 1 by default, however you should easily be able to argue the 'reasonable expected life span' for a product of that type is easily 2-3 years. HP shouldnt put up too much of a fight if you start throwing around terms like ACCC, ombudsman etc.

      • Thanks I would expect at least 2 years for a laptop, if only one year I will consider purchase extended warranty

        • +1

TL/DR: Extended warranty is a fraud except when its so cheap its worth not having to deal with the hassle of 'out of warranty but within a reasonable expected life-span'

I would never consider extended warranty except for this when it is $9
Every laptop purchased would have an expected lifetime of more than 1 year so you are wasting money getting extended warranty. After one year you just need to jump through a few more hoops. I consider $9 to be worth paying as ill waste more time jumping through hoops, but when normal extended warranty is $50 and up theres no value there.

          • @khepri: I agree, the hinges on my 2014 hp envy were so flimsy. When they broke outside their 12 months warranty, I called hp and stressed how weak they are and how many people with a similar laptop had the same thing happen to them. They ended up picking it up and sending it to Singapore for repair. They were so quick too. Definitely a great experience.

      • When we contacted jb they didn’t argue after 18 months about repairing it. They stated that we wouldn’t be covered if it was accidental damage. It wasn’t and the laptop is very plastic and flimsy. The charging port has gone and I’m quite upset that after 18 months it’s already broken. My daughter is in y12 and currently during the pandemic with no laptop

        • Generally going through the retailer is much slower than the manufacturer direct but easier for the consumer as you can just drop it off at the retail outlet.

I had a 3 year warranty for my HP Spectre x360. A little over 1 year into the warranty it developed a faulty keyboard and HP refused to honour the warranty and tried charging me $617 to replace a keyboard. The keyboard part is probably worth around $30-60.

      • ACCC? Ombudsman threat normally fixes them.

  • Any Deal on HP Monitors , code only works on Laptops

thank you OP, I got a 10th gen i5 laptop for $638 with 2 year warranty included. super cool!

btw code hp30% works on every hp25% eligible laptop for extra 5% off. cool!

the original machine in OP post looked cool, but damn, that screen sucks and impossible to replace. 250nit is dim, and 45% coverage is not my cup of tea

    • which one did you get?

    • According to specs this one is 250 nits and 45% coverage too.

      • but it's not touch screen
I will install a good panel into it (I have one). solved

can't easily replace a touch screen. non-touch - piece of cake

        • If you install a different screen you will loose warranty though

          • @fozzie: if I have to service it, I will put the old screen on. no one will ever know

  • Is it upgrade or downgrade from 2013 i5 macbook pro , macbook still runs fine though

    • -3

I would have bought it myself, but decided that intel i5 based sibling for $40 more with 2 year care plan represents a better value

        • Link?

          • @spy: actually bugger. HP went rogue with their laptop screens. I am a Dell guy who wanted to try some HP model out as I haven't touched HP for years. turns out HP tape their screens to the lid now! carramba

I am not touching HP for another few years, and my order is being cancelled as we speak. back to my Dells again haha

            • @[Deactivated]: Why was your order cancelled?

              • @BuyNow Think Later: I asked for it to be cancelled. now that I can see that the laptops are impossible to mod (most importantly screen upgrade) I don't want one.

I have a heavily modded Dell, I wanted to get something with newer generation CPU, but now I will wait for a better deal.

still have warranty on my Dell for another year

in this sale almost every discounted model has a crappy dim panel with dull colours, show stopper for me. only Envy ones are exception, and maybe some more expensive models, not worth it.

Showing 659 after he discount for me How did you get it for 604?

      • -4

            • @[Deactivated]: That only proves you got it for 45%
The only code that works for me is 40%
              Now walk away

              • @tarkine: you're doing something wrong

                • @[Deactivated]: Its not rocket science mate The 45% code does not work The only code that does is 40% What are YOU failing to grasp

                  • @tarkine: ok sorry my bad, HP must have removed it few minutes ago, as it worked for me literally minutes ago

actually no, just worked for me again

                        • @spy: sorry, do you have details on redemption? I didn't get it

                          • @[Deactivated]: Check the link in a different browser

                            • @spy: what's this $100 redemption?

                            • @spy: I get the redemption info if I am not in education store. could it be you can get either 40% or the cash back?

                  • @tarkine:

                    Its not rocket science mate

It sure isn't, just enter HP45% code and get 45% off. Worked fine 5min ago.

                    • -1

@OzBragain: For whatever reason the code does not work for me.I wish it did, but alas,no cigar

                      • @tarkine: Logged in to Student Edge?

                        Tried different browser? Private window/incognito?

                      • @tarkine: the 45% only works on 2 in 1 laptop with 40% code - not all laptop.
Credit to the comments in page 1.

                        • +1

@kungfupanda: It doesn't have to be a 2 in 1 just have the 40% code.

                          • @pomchu: No luck for me either. Tried incognito browser etc etc. Only code that works is HP30% for me

                            • @spare13: I believe you. It was working yesterday though despite some having

problems with the code not working.

Edit: Code HP45% is still working for me.

        • HP45% still worked for me. I think you guys are too hash on AstroCadaver. He was only trying to help and got downvoted.

          • +1

@noshopping: a rundown on tricks on this deal for you since you're a good fella
            - hp45% works on every laptop that has 40% discount on it
            - hp30% works on every laptop that has 25% discount on it (some good deals here too)
            - refurb20% works on every product that is refurbished (some good deals here, too)
            - remove all codes from your basket before trying to apply another one
            that's it.

for me though I made a decision that there are no good deals though.
all reasonably priced laptops I come across come with crappy screens, and screens are hard to upgrade
good screens only in ENVY laptops and no good discount on those (also they are too small for my liking 13 inch)
so no deals for me here. I will wait for a Dell sale I think..

            • @[Deactivated]: Thanks for the info!

            • @[Deactivated]: Can you get HP45% to work on Spectre models? I couldn't.

              • @concento: you are right, it doesn't work on some product lines. cheaper ones - works

  • -2

    No your not

  • -3

    Jog on pal

  • Awesome deal got one.

  • FWIW my estimated shipping date for HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1155tu came up as 6-10 days but won't hold my breath.

Anyone know if these ship from Aus or OS?

  • cheers bought HP Spectre x360 - 13-aw0086tu for $1320

    • It seems like a very good deal for this specs

  • Look like the 45% discount code is not working anymore, can only use HP40% now

  • expired ?

  • Why is the lead time too much? 6 weeks? bummer

  • HP45% still works

  • Just saw someone pay 2600 for a spectre at jbhifi. Should have told him about this deal feels bad can't believe the salesman kept saying it was an amazing deal and wouldn't be cheaper.

    • +2

Sometimes it doesn't work out. I've seen people become hostile towards people who "give them advice" on where to buy cheaper. It's construe as being a smartass to some people.

      • Unfortunately very true

      • Yes. Often better to let others be happy in their ignorance.
Emotional responses can be strange …

  • Is it possible this could be cancelled?

Even if it is directly via HP, surely they have a stock limit that they can fulfill (even with a 6 week lead time).

Hoping all the orders get processed. I was just looking for an X-Large tablet, and the specs on this are fantastic for that purpose.

    • Not sure. I ordered by HP laptop a month ago (with an advertised 4-6 week wait time) and it has yet to arrive.

      • I ordered mine on the 7th, it was dispatched on the 15th and is expected to be delivered by the 2nd. I was expecting a long wait because of the 2-6 weeks estimation. Do you have a delivery date on yours?

        • Mine is expected to be delivered next week or the week after, but it definitely wasn't dispatched as quick as yours was!

Hi guys which one is a better option? I am debating about which Envy 360x 15 to get …

    https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx…

Seems like the only difference is the CPU.Both have a 4k display. How much difference is the i5 and i7 processor? After 45% discount the price difference is $385 dollars, is it worth to pay extra 385 for an i7 model ? Please advise thanks
