I also need to know, need help chosing.

      • +1

The new version of Envy x360 is coming out soon, already on sale in the US, I want the new version with much smaller bazel
        https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-envy-x360-laptop-15t-ed000…

        • +1

          In the port section of the new version it says : 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C™ (10 Gb/s signaling rate, Power Delivery 3.0, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge); 1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (5 Gb/s signaling rate, HP Sleep and Charge); 1 Mini DisplayPort™; 1 HDMI 2.0; 1 headphone/microphone combo

it has 1 usb c and 1 usb a for connecting devices right? has HDMI and DisplayPort too so what's the difference between both?

    • No Thunderbolt on these, right?

    • +1

Had the same issue - Ended up with the i5 model.
Looks like unless you get the 6 core i7, there isn't a massive difference between a high end i5 and low end i7.
If the price difference was closer to $100, I could have justified it - At $385, it just wasn't worth it.

$1200 for a 2-in-1 with 16gb ram, 512gb ssd, MX250 and 4k screen is the real bargain here!

Lets see if HP will honour the deal or demand more details about being a student.

      • +1

Totally agree, the i5 model is better value. I doubt the day to day usage you can tell the difference between the i5 and i7, I don’t buy this machine for gaming anyways, and the game you can’t play on the i5, you can’t play in the i7 either, they have the same graphic. 1200 is definitely a great value :)

  • how to get cheap extra warranty on this model? only shows 3 year for $322.

    https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx…

    • Do you think the i7 model worth extra 385? There is an i5 model after discount only $1209

      • well can claim it for tax deduction.

      • +1

ended up getting the cheaper version, i got an i5 lenovo and a $3500 macbook pro i7, couldnt notice anything different tbh.

        • +1

Yea I read the review this i5 and i7 the difference is very minimal, and if you don’t play game then the i5 use even less power.so the cheaper one is a better value

    • Keep scrolling to the left and you will find 2 years
      for$32.

      • Is that warranty means 2 extra years plus existing one years so in total 3 years? Thanks

        • That I do not know.

          • @Misogi Kumagawa: https://www.windowscentral.com/hp-envy-13-envy-x360-13-2020-…

I think the New 2020 Envy x360 15 is just around the cornor, It will be on sale in May with a much slimmer bazel and upgrade cpu and gpu, i dont know if I should wait and dunno if HP will also give 40% discount on the 2020 one.

            • @ozvictor: I contemplated that too. I actually asked via chat when the laptop I ordered was released. I was told it became active on 3/01/2020. I thought it was weird that they would use active date instead of release date. So I asked if active date is the same as release date. It clearly isn't. I still bought it though. I've notice hp does not include release date on their website, are there other ways to identify this?

              • @Misogi Kumagawa: The news said it will be on sale in May, but not sure when in Australia, I know it will be on sale in China on 18th May. since HP offer 14 days change of mind, if the new version come out, I will definitely return mine, because the new one looks really great with tiny bazel, the new Spectre x360 on sale now is also the new 2020 version so I hope the new Envy will also give 40% off

              • @Misogi Kumagawa: The one we bought now is actually the 2019 version. but the 2020 version will come out really soon, thinking of canceling my order but will wait a week or two and see

        • Should be

  • +1

Thanks OP. Was contemplating a Surface Pro 7 and no way I will be able to get these specs on a Surface Pro. Ordered HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1157tu for $989.46..

    • Great

    • Looks the same to me except different colour.

    • different colour, i ordered the aw0086tu

  • Anyone that has the Spectre X360 with a 4K OLED screen can comment on the battery life?

    • youtube reviews state 4k oled version around 6-7 hours. FHD version around 10 hours

      • Thanks but I was hoping someone with actual user experience can comment as I have seen some reviews mention around 4 hours for the OLED as well

  • HP Pavilion - 15-cw1045au costs just $769.45 after 45% discount. Great price for the specs.
    • AMD Ryzen™ 5 3500U (2.1 GHz base clock, up to 3.7 GHz max boost clock, 4 MB L3 cache, 4 cores)
    • 15.6" diagonal FHD IPS BrightView micro-edge WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080)
    • 16 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (2 x 8 GB)
    • 512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD

Also added HP 2 Year 3 Day Response Onsite Service for just $17.

    • The similar model cw1043au with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD is close to $600. Worth considering if you can upgrade the RAM and storage yourself.

      • Bought the cw1043au for my mum, good specs for the price, grabbed the extra warranty as well 621.45 - great price IMO.

      • Yes, I saw it. Price difference between these two models is only $148. You won't be able to buy extra 8GB of RAM and 512GB storage for this amount. Plus you will have to spend time to find good prices, then to order and then to open laptop and install.
Not worth it in my opinion.

  • I forgot to buy the extra warranty when buying the laptop, is there any way to add it now ?

    • +1

Maybe call the online support and ask if you can add them

    • +1

There is a online chat option (right hand corner). I purchased cw1043au over weekend and didnt put the extra warranty on (also used the 40% code instead of 45%) and I had to cancel the order on the chat but was able to reorder it. Maybe if its only the warranty they can do it, there was a slight queue on the chat, but after ~5 minutes got an agent.

      • Thanks, I tried it and got through to an agent.

It's $149 to add it now.
She did say to go back to Student Edge website to get a discount, but alas now needs a student email address. face palm

        • Maybe cancel the order and reorder it …

          • @ozvictor: I think they've patched the loop hole, they want a verification student email now on student edge.

    • I managed to buy it separately for $17, thanks all.

      https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx…

      • Please let me know how you managed to get it for %17. Thanks

        • +1

As others have mentioned I use the following link

          http://s-edg.com/hp-lto

to get to HP site. Note it has to say Student Store on the top right of the page.

Then do a search for "hp carepacks", select "HP PC Carepacks", you should see $17 option.

  • +1

They've woken up to non-students going for these deals.

    • No longer to checkout using the links here for non students? What's the message showing?

      • Verify with student address it's saying today. I assume that's an .edu address but since I am not buying I won't check.

I had already verified a regular address on the weekend and it worked then.

        • -1

Got this also, even after verifying once already:
We need you to verify your Student Status to use this deal

          :(

  • you can just order the 2 year on site for 38 seperately if you forget..

  • Model is now out of stock. Anyone able to recommend something just as good?

  • Can someone help choosing between these? HP envy 15 https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx… for $1209 after discount or HP spectre https://h20386.www2.hp.com/australiastore/merch/Product.aspx… for $1319 after discount. Thanks

    • +1

There's minimal difference beteen the 2 CPUs
depends on whether you want a 15" or 1 13" screen, 4k OLED vs 1080p, more ram, dedicated GPU…etc
all specs look better on the Envy, it's just the Spectre is the next level up in the HP hierarchy (better design, materials used - if looks matter to you), so it costs more.

      • Envy is a better buy, 4K amoled is a whole new experience if you like watching movies

        • +1

You should add - if you like watching movies on a 13" inch screen :)

  • +1

HP45% and HP40% no longer working

    • +1

They still works, even though they remove the discount title

      • not working for me ??

        • Which model you are choosing ?

    • Also not working for me. Did you get it to work for you?

      • Yea it works for me 45% off for envy x360 15, I placed the order yesterday

  • So… I just ordered through the student portal and didn't have any verification prompts. Applied HP45% to the HP Pavilion - 15-cw1045au, they were more than happy to process my credit card just now. Or does this verification happen after everything is ordered and processed?

    • +1

      You should be fine.

  • +1

Is there still a way to access this deal for those who don't have a edu.au email?

    • +1

On page one, Schmecklez posted the link:

      http://s-edg.com/hp-lto

YMMV. HP40% and HP45% both dropped the prices for me on certain laptops. Best of luck!

  • Discounts no longer working? EDIT: Got it to work on the HP Pavilion - 15-cw1042au

  • Thanks for posting htis.

    https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx…

Got the above for around $990 - pretty amazing deal considering you can't get anything with those specs for that price.

    • 770

      • so you reckon it is not worth spending extra $140 extra for intel 1065G7 processor

        • Ryzen one is 1399$
          Intel is 1299$

          After disc as per you
          Ryzen is 770$
          Intel is $910

          So clear winner is 770$
          Rest you can decide

    • I ordered Ryzen for $770 on 18 May plus 2 year Care plan for $17.
Received an email that it has been shipped and should arrive on 25 May.
That's quiet fast, especially considering that the website quoted 4 to 6 weeks delay.

      • I was still thinking and didn't order in time. Missed out

  • +2

Now the HP45% is not working on anymore, HP40% still works but only have 30% discount instead of 40% if you use it.

Was able to order the HP Envy x360 15 i5 4k version for $1209 yesterday.

    • can you please share screenshot which shows this model with the discounted price thanks

    • I order two days ago and estimate delivery said 2 July, but the website now change to 5-10 business day delivery, is yours shipped yet?

    • is there any way to get this at this price now?

      • Seems like you can’t get in this price now, max discount is now 30%, maybe wait for next promo..

  • Has anyone got theirs shipped yet?

I got Envy envy so changed mine from this Pavilion x360-14-dh1051tx to Envy x360-15-dr1048tx by ordering both and cancelling the pav

    • What makes you changed your mind?

Isn't Pavilion lighter and with higher spec?

Did you get additional support pack?

      • lighter = plastic :)

      • metal chassis, larger + better screen, numpad keyboard, etc

yep got support pack on both - it cost like 30 bucks for the 2 year pack (ie an extra year)

        • Which is the one you are getting - thats compatible to the Envy x360?

          • @bluebluebird: I also get the Envy 15 4K version for 1209, I love watching movie so I think the 4k amoled will be a great experience. But I check the website you cannot use the 45% code anymore, only max 30% discount which bring the price up to over 1500 dollars

          • +1

@bluebluebird: If you go into the product page for the laptop you got, you will find it under accessories and the relevant price for it - looks like the prices varies for different laptops as the price was diff for the pavilion and envy

I got the HP care pack called 2 Year 3 Day Response Onsite Service

            • +1

@mrshorty: Thanks guys for the info - I was contemplating between the 2 Pavilions, and should be considering the Envy.
Anyway am glad i got 1 with 45% off.

Seems like 45% is no longer working, and the 40% is actually 30% max discount.

    • order two days ago and estimate delivery said 2 July, but the website now change to 5-10 business day delivery, is yours shipped yet?

      • mine hasnt shipped either but not unexpected with all these delivery delays everywhere

  • +2

Reports of the code not working any more.

    Is this deal now expired??

  • the code is not working today :(. It was working until last night.

  • Ordered on 17May. Shipment Confirmation received today with expected delivery date of 27May..

    • which model did you order?

      • HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1157tu

    • Haha, I ordered at the same date for the same laptop and have the same delivery date. Though no tracking number or who it is they are going through.

      • +1

@pinnacle - I got mine today! Just over a week. Not bad considering it said 4-6 week wait on the website.

    • ordered the same one on 20-May, with est shipment date 02-Jun.

  • Ordered both of mine on the 17th but presumed I would be in for a wait of at least 2 weeks however they were a shipped today and will be here in on the 26th In Tas

    • I'm assuming all the orders being shipped today are being shipped from within Australia. I'm not sure why they waited to restock local stock to ship these while they shipped my order from China, which was was placed on the 7th of May.

      • I would assume that is the case. Any international orders can expect some signicant delays based on the information on the HP website

        • I understand that. I was more wondering why they didn't wait for the local restocking. They probably thought shipping mine from China would get it to me faster compared to restocking and then shipping to customers. I'm not complaining. DHL Global Forwarding received my package today, so I will probably get it on Monday. I've just learnt the tracking number they gave me was for when DHL will get my laptop and not when i would get it. It's currently showing "arrived final destination."

  • I have estimated shipping date of 1st July. Ordered same day as this deal was posted :(
