He’d been the darling of Manchester United for 10 years by the time this came out. He had like 5 or 6 EPL titles under his belt by 2002
An exaggeration. He wasn't nearly as well known globally as he later became, especially in the US. But anyway, my main point is that this movie has nothing to do with Beckham, so the name is somewhat misleading. I'm actually surprised that he allowed it to be used, because the film makers are profiting from the use of his name.
I don't follow any soccer what so ever but I knew who and how big he was when that movie came out 😝

Ah I remember when this movie came out, no one knew who Beckham was back then. Ironically, David Beckham wasn't even in this at all.
