Reasonable priced, lightweight laptop.
One downside is soldered memory, so if 8GB is not enough, then that's the dealbreaker for some.
Another one is it's not a ThinkPad, so no TrackPoint on IdeaPad line.
10th Gen Intel CPU maybe not as polished as the new Ryzen 4000 series, still a good upgrade from my 4 years old i5-6200U.
The screen lid is metal, while the base is plastic, seems good built quality from my research. It supports USB-C PD.
The shipping time is 10-15 business days, so looking at late June delivery if no further delay from the current pandemic.
Not sure when the deal ends, hope it's helpful for those in the market for a new laptop.

    One downside is soldered memory,

These days I can't think of any laptop that has user-replaceable memory; I wouldn't think this is a downside, more like "as usual".

can't think of any laptop that has user-replaceable memory

Maybe you meant any ultrabooks not any laptop, because most gaming laptop would be user replaceable

So anything that is not a gaming-laptop is an ultrabook, you say?

Even for IdeaPad, Lenovo's consumer grade laptops, only the Slim series have no DIMM slot. All the others (3 Series, L Series, C Series) have either 2x DIMM or soldered + a single DIMM.

      • Hm, you are right - looks like higher-end T models (and all Apple) are soldered, but even the crappy E series are DIMMs.

Interested in either the 14" or 15" IdeaPad, but only if it comes with an AMD Ryzen 4000 series CPU, 16GB RAM, touchscreen and larger 95Wh battery (only available in some other countries). Shame :(

I'd be happy enough with the 14" version of this laptop with Ryzen 4th gen 😊

      • +1

Similarly spec'd Ryzen 4500U model costs nearly $300 more in 15" or not available in 14" at the moment. For 15% or like performance increase, I'd rather save $300. That's why I feel this deal should be appealing to some who's in the market right now.

PS: don't forget some cashback from your preferred site.

        • Don't get me wrong, this is a steal for a 10th gen Intel thin and light that has received strong reviews! I should probably upvote the deal…

  • Just a heads up, if you use the clickfrenzy code, no cashback.

  • Anyone able to find a review for this model?

  • +1

Not this exact model, Just Josh on YouTube has a very positive review on the 15" AMD 4500U version. Same ports layout, built quality should be same between 14"/15".
There's another Youtuber reviewed above model from a gamer's point, there's one video was on the laptop itself.
I know that's for Ryzen version, the closest I could find.
Given current exchange rate, this deal is about U$595.

  • Will this kind of IPS screen will be the same as IPS monitor?

  • Nah bad screen. 45% color gamut

    • Yeah really hard to find one with good IPS screen like desktop screen.

  • Has anyones unit shipped?
