Thanks OP, I've been taking expensive Berocca chewables, this is a great bargain!

    • Berocca is basically just a very expensive B complex tablet. U could save even more money.

That's the hors d'oeuvres for the bi-annual diabetic Meet and Greet sorted!

Thanks OP! Love the tangy crunch…

    • Same.

I know i shouldn't buy this just for that reason. (Candy is cheaper haha) but tempted lol

    • Good luck with that, let us know your experience

      • No questions asked in St kilda

        • It was better price or you asked to match? I know for sure they barely agree to match other pharmacies, not supermarkets let alone Amazon.

  • +1

    Same price as woolies

  • Thanks, OP!

I used to get these until i found out they use an artificial sweetener (aspartame (e951)) as the sugar replacement.

    • Lol how else can they taste so good

    • -1

What’s wrong with sweetener? Better than sugar

      • Nothing tastes as good as good ole sugar

      • Artificial sweeteners could be bad for your intestinal microflora. Not really healthy according to recent study.

  • +1

Honest question.. do they really work?

    • +2

If you eat couple of fruits per week, then the advantages of the use of these are low.

      • Better to eat a couple a day.

    • What do you mean by "do they really work?" This is a Vitamin C supplement.

If you are diagnosed with Vitamin C deficiency, then yes, this is one way of getting it in. Another and more preferable way is to get it through food, such as potatoes.

      • According to google 1 large potato containts 72.7 mg of vitamin C - that equates to nearly 7 pototes per tablet.
        Assuming they're the same I'd prefer 1 vitamin C tablet & 1 potato.

        • +6

Majority of other vegetables are a good source of Vitamin C.

Point being, get your diet sorted before relying on supplements.

        • Comparing with oranges or sour fruit will be better.

          • @EnALup: 1 large orange = 97.9 mg of vitamin c

0 mg of vitamin C in a box of fried chicken.

Balance is everything but vitamin C tablets are probably a good safety net.

Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is the greatest medical discovery ever made… And the most poorly utilised.

Search "Dr Thomas Levy vitamin C" on YouTube. Read about Fred Klenner, Linus Pauling, Robert Cathcart, etc. There's over 70 years worth of literature regarding vitamin C curing viral infections like polio in 1948. Also bacterial, poison and toxic conditions.

Dr Paul Marik has been curing sepsis with vitamin C for 3 years (think coronavirus).

Shanghai and Singapore have been using vitamin C to treat and cure COVID-19. You must use large doses though, several grams a day. I take 4 to 10 grams a day, but I use ascorbic acid powder (pure vitamin C). $18 a kilogram, much better deal than what's posted here.

The premise is simple: all disease is oxidative stress and vitamin C is the most efficient antioxidant available (magnesium is very good too). Oral vitamin C (except liposomal which is quite expensive) is not as effectuce as intravenous vitamin C, but it is still very useful in fighting disease.

      Good luck.

      • Great post.
I always believed in Vit c. Fights against cold and flu.
Rather overload on some Vit c before taking any cold flu tablets.

Where do you buy your ascorbic acid powder (pure vitamin C). $18 a kilogram from??

      • You lost me at 4 to 10 grams a day especially without medical supervision or being told you need to take such dosages lmao.

How many times a day do you goto the toilet? also enjoy your kidney stones…

  • Unless you have a diagnosed medical indication, don’t waste your money. These are just going to increase your risk of kidney stones

    • This one or any multi vitamins?

      • +1

In general any multivitamin. Unless someone has an actual medical indication, if someone’s diet is so bad they need a supplement of vitamin c, then they shouldn’t waste money on this and should spend it either on a better diet or a dietician.

        • I get it, I was talking about risk of kidney stones. Does these cause that?

          • @EnALup: Oh right, well multivitamins contain vitamin c, as well as calcium, so yeah they could increase your risk of kidney stones with urate, oxalate, or cysteine stones

          • @EnALup: Purely unsubstantiated as it was only my own experience, but for about a year I took 1 or 2 500mg vit C chewable every day (I eat no fruit), and this routine stopped after a week in the foetal position on the bathroom floor trying to pee out a 3.6mm (I had a scan to determine this) jagged hunk of stone.

Immediately stopped taking them, and drank heaps of apple cider vinegar with the belief that the acid of the vinegar may break the alkaline stone down. Not only did I not pee it out (I would've felt it, I'm sure!) but it went away and haven't had any problems since.

My theory, which I'm sure has no medical basis, is that the high dose of ascorbic acid created this stone as it was more than my body could consume.

Now I just need to deal with the likely scurvy I'm headed for…

  • Good price, but you're much better off swallowing the tablet than sucking or chewing on it. Better for your teeth.

      It’s sugarless!

    • -1

      It’s sugarless!

      • It' the acidity I assume.

        • -1

          It’s acid free

    • Chewing these are one of life's little luxuries. I won't be giving that up!

  • thanks op

  • I can not find where these are made. Not even on the manufacturer’s website.

    • +1

That's the thing about supplements industry. They don't have to specify any of the ingredients or where it is made.
