I'm interested but I'm worried the top of the pole will punch through or dent plaster ceilings if you try to tighten it too much. Also would have appreciated a more sturdy base instead of a monopod. Anyone have experience with these things?

At 38cm wide it might be good for hanging up hankies.

      • +4

I believe that 38cm is the depth of the unit. As 1.2m would make more sense as width.

I don't get this. All that effort to connect to the ceiling and such tiny shelves. Extendable shelves - does that mean you have to buy more parts?

I don't know what this really does better than a standard Kmart one which handles more clothes.

Extendable shelves is that the unit is adjustable in width. So you could slide it in to make it smaller or extend it to make it larger.

Ah, makes more sense in the morning

  • Would it break my gyprock ceiling?

    • +1

Most likely leave a permanent impression if not break.

  • indoor only ?

    what about balcony

    • I'd say anyway that has a floor and ceiling within the width of the unit.

Thanks OP, I need to replace a load bearing wall and this looks like a cheap option.

Definitely the rating you need ! 🤫

I'm sure it would be useful for something, but may god have mercy on the soul of anyone who uses this to dry their clothes. And likewise to whoever was involved in designing this product.

  • Thanks OP.

Seems a lot of structure for very little actual drying space. I have one of these ones which is great and folds up (of course) for easy storage (not sure which version is the better buy - the $29 or the $70).

prefer the wire ones so you can fold away in seconds and not as bulky to move around or store. We place armies of them near various heating vents during the winter lol.

  • Aldi have a mini clothes line for $19

  • We have a few similar to these, but extra wide versions. It is good for hanging t-shirts etc. you can hang business shirts on plastic coat hangers on the end rails. There are also the hangers You can buy from IKEA, or Howard’s, for socks and underwear.

Watch out for these the support is plastic. It is OK for normal use but We broke one with a sodden pillow we had washed.

These fold down very flat to shove in a wardrobe or a corner.
