If you want to get tricky, you could use multiple Amex cards to purchase multiple $100 David Jones eGift cards and pay with those. Edit: Confirmed $10 welcome and $10 birthday rewards are still going.

Camelcamelcamel shows this is the cheapest it’s been on Amazon.

Product description:

Diesel takes its wearable technology up a notch with the premium Full Guard 2.5. Powered with Wear OS by Google the touchscreen smartwatch alerts you of weather changes and real-time smartphone notifications, tracks your heart rate and every move, and lets you control music from your wrist. Unique dial effects add even more personality to this smartwatch with visual enhancements like the appearance of a cracked screen when a private notification is received.

Elevated materials like the colored anodized aluminum also make this touchscreen smartwatch lighter without sacrificing durability. The stainless steel lugs, crown guard and clips have also been sculpted to remove excess weight from the case, while still maintaining a strong structural integrity for ultimate performance.

Wear OS by Google works with phones running Android 4.4+ (excluding Go edition) or iOS 9.3+. Supported features may vary between platforms and countries.
- Band Colour: Gunmetal - Dial Colour: Black - Band Material: Stainless Steel - Case Material: Stainless Steel - Band Width: 24MM - Case Diameter: 48MM - Case Thickness: 13MM - Water Resistant Depth: 3 ATM.

Reviews praise the design but mention the battery only gives about a day of charge. Tech Radar’s summary from their review:

The Diesel On Full Guard 2.5 won’t be the smartwatch for everyone, but for a select few it will be ideal. Lackluster battery life is made up for by a design that isn’t offered by anyone else in the smartwatch market. This is for the select few, but for those that like the design it'll be a great addition to their tech collection.

Thanks to PriceHipster and a shout-out to eastenculture who I noticed had also mentioned the deal.

  • hmm watching one youtube, its weird why the watch faces don't go stretch to fill the whole screen?

Beautiful casing. Wish it was the better 3100 processor and 1gb ram, then I would bite. AW on low specs is a pretty poor experience imho. Returned my fossil gen 4 and went for a fancy watch in the end. I miss the Google ecosystem of apps, but the Samsung is much more responsive and fluid and just an all round better watch (mostly due to software).

    • I’m still using my Huawei W1 which is a few years old and it hasn’t really skipped a beat for me. Can’t imagine it’s running better hardware than this?

      • It is with GPS, HRM and NFC.

Issue is that all Gen 4 Fossils have a 45hz screen rather than 60hz of your Huawei and earlier Fossils. Therefore cos of the low RAM, the lag and choppy scrolling is accentuated even more. Made me tear my hair out so I've sold my Gen 4's.

        • Yeah I guess if you just use it for basic notifications might be ok.

I found Google music almost impossibly slow to use, issues with the assistant (ended up turning it off) and just general slowness and UI screwiness and tearing.

          • @dbglt: Shame and Google is just in limbo with their support. I'm sure it's better with Gen 5 watches cos at least they have the 1Gb RAM. I still have a few WearOS watches but it's for the looks mainly.

Everyone negative on every Smart watch any watch that everyone agrees is A grade?

Smart watches and ear buds. Avoid both because it seems like the perfect design just hasn't happened yet

      • I agree on your point for smartwatches, even though I really enjoy mine it is still a work in progress

For earbuds though I disagree as I cant find a single fault in my Jabra Elite 75t

Fossil Gen 5, Falster 3, and Galaxy Watches would be my picks from the android/non iPhone side of things.

If a watch needs to be charged every day it's a NO from me. Sleep monitoring is important to me that's why I'm still rocking my Amazfit Bip. Not the most stylish of watches but after 2 years it's still getting 30 days per charge.

This is a pretty niche deal, but for anyone still keen on it: Although it's now showing as sold out online, I just spoke to live chat and they said there were still some at the Bourke St store. You can place the order over the phone and they will deliver it to you. The phone numbers for the appropriate department in Bourke St are 03 9643 2534 or 03 9643 2655.
