Great price for an underrated game of 2017.

Love Prey and it's Mooncrash expansion.

Best game in the past 3 years imho

I found the start to be a bit slow but once a couple of hours into it was great. I love the setting and gameplay (once you've unlocked a decent selection of powers and weapons). I'd give it the best first-person shooter in the last 3 years.

      • There isn't a lot of shooting, I think that is where it looses people.
        Great 1st person action thriller.

    • Seriously? I played half way and I didn't like it one bit.

I get motion sickness from First Person games but I did manage to play and finish Resident Evil 7 & Blair Witch with out getting sick.

I’m guessing Prey is not as slow as these two games?

    • I haven't played either of those games. It's not crazy fast like DOOM but you got to be still be reasonably quick. Probably the same speed as most other first person shooters

        Ok thanks for that

With RE7 and Blair witch they are most slow paced so I was good

    • try adjusting the FOV in games it can help with motion sickness.

      • Thanks but I think I’m just strange hahaha I never use to get it when I was younger with doom duke nuke etc

        • I've always found that if the game has the option to switch off head bob effect then it helps with the motion sickness.

        • I played duke nukem, I think it had a really low FOV so try that in games? I know duke3d had view bob so that's not the issue

How has nobody mentioned that 'space BioShock' is system shock 1&2?

    • +3

      Damn youngens.

Next they'll be calling the Bioshock remake an "underwater Prey".

Arkane intentionally developed Prey as a spiritual successor to the System Shock franchise (which is also getting a third instalment and a remake of the original).

The comparison with BioShock is valid one though, as all three franchises (along with Deus Ex, Dishonored or Watch Dogs) are Sci-Fi themed RPG/FPS hybrids with a very similiar upgrade mechanic in form of Neuromods which function identically to augmentations in Deus Ex or BioShock's Plasmids and a very familiar skill tree divided into three basic class pathways (Combat, Stealth or Hacking/Psionic).

      • It even had the stupid camera thing so you could upgrade attacks against enemies which I always hated

  • I got this game around release and shelved it after 3 hours of frustration. Not having ammo, dying constantly when I come across a single enemy killed it for me.

  • What platform does this activate on? Or is it a physical copy?

    • Steam for PC version. Physical copy for Xbox

Can't believe I found my copy of the original Prey game from 2006 a few months ago. Registered the game key on steam and was surprised it worked. 1.7gb

    • Far better game imo, wish they made a sequel rather than a reboot.

      • I remember when they showed that sequel trailer. Wish that game came out.

Interesting, I tried finding the PS4 version yesterday and only the preowned one (which is more expensive than new) showed up.

      • maybe they added it in this morning who knows lol still, I myself just ordered a copy for each xbox and ps4

  • My favourite game of the past 5 or so years. Super easy to get into

  • I finished the game and I absolutely did not like it too. I simply can not understand how some one can like such a completely dull story, and yes I finished the game and I know what happened at the end. It is still for me one of the most dull stories I have ever played on a single player campaign, and they had such a cool concept for the aliens, that can shape shift. But at less then $5, you cant go wrong I guess, get it, you may like it. Some people must like it, otherwise it will not have a metacritic rating of 80+.

    • Story was slow to begin with, nothing spectacular but not really dull either. Gameplay was decent and that's what really counts for me.
