At least 89% Australian ingredients doesnt sound too convincing

But if they are "heavenly", i wont care :)

    • Anything with Pork is usually Aussie. OTOH anything frozen with seafood is often imported from China or South East Asia.

Get some pork on your fork, I mean, between your chop sticks.

Got some last time they were on special. Pretty good when done in the steamer IMO for a frozen product.

  • Bought some at the last half price. Fairly average product.

    • I second this… one of the worst ones I've tried IMHO - I've tried lots. Marginal price difference to others which are far superior. The chicken one was like slops inside. Wasn't nice.

      • Which brand(s)would you recommend? I have been buying Mr Chen's when on special, but would love to know of others that are better.

          Yep, they're fairly good.
Best I've found, IMHO are Diana Chan varieties by far and KBs Prawn Gyoza, both when half price. Diana Chan's were half price last week, lesser special this week. I stocked up last week :)

            @mrbargainhunter: +1000000

I saw master chef and thought "meh

Tried the chicken ones and they were fantastic

And definitely kb are the best for prawn dumplings

            • @Samsungnote10: @hellohello123 The szechuan pork are my fave Diana Chan…potentially fave overall too…?
It's actually quite surprising the vast difference between good and bad frozen dumplings (or gyoza), yet I've found there isn't a big price difference.

        • We were recommended Mr Chen prawn dumplings and they are actually quite good. But then found out it's made in vietnam.
It's just a personal thing but I don't trust the seafood quality from SE asia

          (and I'm Vietnamese).

Would only buy Aussie or NZ seafood, even whole fish from the seafood markets I avoid if not from these two origins

          • @dallandra: It's not racist to buy Aussie, especially when it comes to health. We have higher standards than most Third World countries. Of course, there are always exceptions…

Great price, tasty filling but found the pastry on these to be very “thick”, not the thin and translucent type…

I agree Mrbargainhunter - Diana Chan ones especially Thai chicken are the best by far when on special too. These heavenly ones aren’t that nice.

It's the actual ingredients you should look into.

    Pork (20%)… Pass.

  • Boiled them and were terrible, reminded me of a restaurant in Melb which sold the same thing. It was ok when I fried them but prefer to buy the pastry from an asian grocery in the future and make it by scratch.

  • Note these are the exact same company (My Crazy Aunties Food) that makes 'Crazy Dragon Dumplings' which are the worst tasting dumpling imo.
