Part of Amazon AU's mid-year sale.

Better deal than the Amazon US $468 deal as it is cheaper and you get it faster.

I believe cheapest ever since the rise of COVID-19.

Further $10 off thru the app promo.

Now that price would have had me import it, oh well.

Edit: au stock okay now I'm annoyed at myself >.<

Thanks! ordered one. I think the lowest was $437 on computer alliance ebay store 20% off sale. $20 more in current situation is pretty good imo.

Ryzen 5 3600x is also on sale for $308.91.

  • new chipsets coming out i heard, this might just be a push to sell runout models

    • +1

The new X570/B550 chipsets are still compatible with 3rd gen Ryzen proceesors.

    • +2

Confirmed run-out sale. The new XT model CPUs are announced on the 16th and available 07/07.

Now do I wait or do I buy now?

      • +2

        The ozbargain dilema

        • Shouldn't get that much cheaper, now is good for tax time for me

          • @G-rig: I haven't done my 18-19 tax :\

  • Is it really worth upgrading from 1700x to 3700x? got a B450 mb

    • +2

better of waiting for next gen unless you really need to upgrade now

    • Depends on the workload. Probably not for most people.

  • Thanks OP. I just downloaded the app on my phone but I didn't get any notification about the $10 off. How do i get it? thanks

      Enter code APPONLY10 at checkout.

      • +2

Yep thx I tried the code but it says: "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

        • yea same, i think its because it is part of the mid year sale

        • Ahh, then it's not on the eligible items list, not as OP's claim.

          • @O O: Yep most likely, still a good bargain though. Earlier I was tempted to buy the one from the Amazon US deal. Glad that i waited

You are meant to redeem the voucher on the desktop site to add it to your account first. It definately does work for sale items

  • +3

Imma wait this out…hopefully it goes down further

    • If I caught this deal in time I would have bought it, but now I guess I'm in your boat.

      • +1

Yeah seems to me that this might go down later on the coming weeks

    Grabbed one, thanks op.

  • 3600x or this? worth the price gap?

    • +1

Next gen consoles will have 8 cores, so yes for gaming I'd say it's worth it in the long run over the 3600.

      • How important is that distinction? Are future games likely to max out all 8 cores?

At present, GPUs massively bottleneck comparatively priced CPUs in games.

        • At present a lot of games don't take advantage of multiple cores very well. Many are speculating that since new gen consoles will 8c, developers will have to take advantage of all 8c to max performance. Even when they do max 8c, how worse off will 6C be? Haven't seen anything detailed on this as a comparison.

    • If the price is close to the 3600 - as it has been on occasion - it can be a good buy but majority of reviews suggest small performance gains aren't worth the extra cost.

  • Was going to wait and see what the refresh pricing was like, but just bought this, wooo!

With X570 pricing and stock so bad, now need to wait a few weeks for B550 motherboards.

  • Seems that stock has run out and the price is back to the Amazon US pricing. There is one seller selling it for $450 but it's a suspiciously new seller with no feedback.

  • Aw jeez how long did it last?

  • $466.87 + $16.83 Delivery = good deal ?

  • AU stock back for $475

  • Currently $454.97 on amazon US

    • Shows up as amazon AU for me, $470 and you can get $10 off in the app.
