    Plus $30 gift card.

    • Hot to get/use it? I ordered one but haven't received the voucher. Should it be sent in email or found in my account? Where to look for?

        See here.

This kind of speed is only really useful in very specific scenarios, unless you're using this for file copies or 8K video editing you should save your money and just get a cheaper PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD.

    • +1

      totally correct.

    • +2

True if you pay the full price. With discount + voucher it is not much more expensive than PCIe 3.0. Also, soft, games are getting fatter, some reach 100+gb, so, storage speed will become more and more important.

      • Especially after PS5 and XBOX Series X come out.

The Unreal Engine PS5 Tech Demo demonstates this.

The SN550 is $128 at Centrecom with free shipping. Also the point of SSDs is their access times, allowing them to read many tiny files quickly, I doubt you'll ever find a difference between a SATA SSD and a PCIe 4.0 SSD for gaming as sequential speeds are… inconsequential.

        • Well, in this case, just for $30 more (which is basically 1 lunch) you will get twice higher speeds and twice more IOPS. For me, it worths it even though the difference in common apps will be minimal.

@niiko: Ah I see you like to show off big numbers.

          • +1

@niiko: Man, your lunch is expensive :D I mostly bring lunch box but I find Sydney CBD lunch $15-20 already expensive.

    • Build it and they will come.

      • ?

  • How well do these sustain 5kmbs?

  • When is Samsung going back to pre-covid prices? :D

  • Does anyone know how long it takes for shopping express to ship out? Still waiting on my previous deal

    • Pretty fast if they have it in stock. But I doubt in their stock considering the logistics disruption and that many items across many stores are out of stock at the moment. You will be lucky to find many items in stock at all these days. Not to mention that prices are about 20% higher than in January.

  • Wondering if my laprop can use this ssd? i am using 2 pcie Gen3 x 4 nvme ssd (970 evo plus and sn750).
