  • Anyone looking at any 2tb m.2 ssd's?

    • +1

Too expensive, SSDs are commodities, they get cheap very fast, in 1 year 2tb will be twice cheaper.

      • +1

I agree that SSDs are getting a lot cheaper, but they are not commodities

A few people mentioned canceling orders from previous deals to get this

This doesn't come into stock June 12.

Would ordering this be the ultimate way to hedge your bets?
-if a better/ cheaper/ quick shipping deal comes up before June 12 cancel this order for the new deal
-if nothing comes up you still have this coming at the end of the month

    Any disadvantages to this approach?

    • +1 would like to know too

    • I don't see a disadvantage. Amazon generally lets you cancel if it hasn't started the shipping process.

  • Any guidace on how I'd copy over my PC image from a smaller NVMe drive to this newer larger one?

    • just do it

(google a program, WD has one on their site)

    • +2

      The free option: https://clonezilla.org/
Paid option: https://www.acronis.com/en-au/homecomputing/thanks/acronis-t… You might be able to clone drives with a trial. Much easier to use than Clonezilla.

    • Macrium Reflect, used a few times now and no issues. Make sure to clone all of the partitions in same order and only increase the size of the windows partition to fill out the drive. Will also need a spare nvme slot or nvme usb enclosure

  • +1

By the time you get it it will probably cheaper and local stock available… 8th of July delivery -hmmm i think ill pass

    • +1

I won't be so sure. Logistics is broken and thus the stock is very limited, so, the US will get it in stock first, then Europe, then us. I would order and then cancel the order if it gets cheaper and/or locally available.

  • Its taking a lot of willpower to not buy this, i have a 970 evo 1tb already… but imagine 2tb of nvme storage tho

    • Nvme so nice you bought it twice

  • How reliable are these? I have had issues with WD hdd and external SSD so I just want to know what are other people's thought and experiences with this.

    • +3

They are as good as SanDisk. Infact, they are SanDisk.

    • Pretty good.

  • it's still expensive.

  • +3

    $218.19 now

    • Thanks. Updated the OP.

  • Thinking about buying this, but it is not AU stock

    • +1

AU stock is comparatively much too expensive tbh. If you’re in the market I would go with this.

    • It all comes out of the same factory in china in the end :)

  • +1

Thanks, first part for my new ryaen build purchased. Not buying cpu until aug-sep when I hear more about the 4000 cpus but I dont see this getting much cheaper.

  • Weird, my order already charged but not shipped yet

  • +1

Placed the order with the 30-day prime free trial. Thank you.

  • Decisions, decisions.

Every time I look to pull the trigger on this deal, the price drops by a dollar.

The ozbargainer in me keeps saying hold off for a further discount.

    • Can always cancel and rebuy at the price drop but can’t bring the deal back once it expires.

  • +1

    And now $215.94

It's getting super close to Amazon AU's best price from last December!

    • Thanks, cancelling and re buying at lower price.

    • Thanks, cancelled and reordered, and the estimate Arriving day earlier than previous order -_-

    • Updated the OP and reordered. Thanks!

  • +1

Wow it keeps dropping! I purchased this at $221 so got in contact with Amazon support and they added a credit of just over $5 to my account :)

    • I see it pops up with "Amazon doesn't offer price matching. If your order hasn't started shipping, you can cancel the order in Your Orders. If your order has already been shipped, and you have had it for less than 30 days, you're welcome to return it using the Returns Support Centre."

What do you do? Just ask the CSR for a credit anyway?

      • +1

My order's status was "Preparing for shipping' so I couldnt cancel the order, so when I asked the CSR he said as it wasnt marked as shipped he was happy to credit the price difference.

        • +1

Cheers, I gave it a shot but my CSR wouldn't do it.

          • @coxymla: Damm! yours was not shipped as well? that sucks man :(

            • +1

@smurfstah: Yeah mine was also preparing for shipping status. I get it, it's not their policy so sometimes you might get it and othertimes not. At least it's only 5 bux.

              • @coxymla: Preparing for shipping should allow to cancel, I did that this morning for my previous order

But no chance now, price up already

  • Has anyone else had delays with shipping? I ordered on the 3rd but my order still hasn't been shipped?

    • Yeah I put in two orders of these simultaneously and one has shipped and the other hasn't. Bit all over the place unfortunately but Amazon US usually delivers well ahead (1-2 weeks) of their estimated timeframe in my experience so I wouldn't stress.

  • +1

mine arrived this afternoon.. I was quite surprised. I'm in Melbourne. I'm pretty sure I ordered mine on the 2nd.

  • +1

I received mine also. Does anyone know what version this drive is and how to find out? I know from reading reviews that WD upgraded the drive to improve performance and the amazon add says its the upgraded version of 3470 read but mine says 3430? I found a video review which shows a box different to mine and on the box it says 3470..

    • When they upgraded it they gave it the SN750 name to avoid confusion. If there has been any update since then it might be just a firmware update.

      • So are you saying the difference in packaging and advertised speed is just a firmware update and some are in new packaging with the new firmware already per-loaded?

  • +1

I read the reviews and decided to splurge on this killer of a deal. It's back in stock! $219.18 + $7.62 Delivery US Import
