                    Amazon said it's out of stock, however as soon as we get items in stock we will ship it in the next moment..

    Bought 1, thanks OP. Didn't quite want to spend $200+ on the WD Black 1TB but happy with Blue 500GB at this price point.

      They're completely different drives. One's DRAMless and the other one has a DRAM Cache. Price Per Gig, it's very similar, so I'd probably just pick the SN750 for the better performance, endurance, warranty and lower power consumption.

        Well if they had their usual price gap no screw the SN750 but at the same price per gigabyte then definitely. The SN550 still has a fantastic controller which allows it to perform incredibly well for being DRAMless.

          It uses HMB - host memory buffer - for systems that support it. So it'll be slower due to this, and not every system can support it.

        Valid point, but was only looking to boot Windows OS in 20 seconds rather than the 5 mins it takes a 1TB 5400rpm Barracuda to boot. Didn't want to spend $200+ and 500 GB capacity is sufficient for my requirements.

        Have a Metabox Clevo P650RE with 3 x NVMe slots so can expand later, if I ever need to. I also don't game on this laptop so the purpose for the SSD is purely to boot Windows faster.

      If you can take off the back cover of your laptop the below screenshot should help identify if your mobo supports m type key used by NVMe.

      There should be only one notch on m2 slot on the right side when looking from where you fix the screw.

      I had this same question a while ago.

      Did a little research and my (non-technical) opinion is it boils down to two questions:

      • Do you need 1TB?
      • Do you regularly read and write large files (20GB+)? Dumbed down, this takes 6s to write 12GB of data, then slows down to writing 50GB in 50 seconds. Is that enough?

      I don't need 1TB, and I don't often work with big files, so I ordered this.
