Good 5.1 system in this price range - price finally dropped below $1000 after being hiked up to $1,299 for several months

  The included FS52 Floorstanders are great speakers, and a deal when they drop to under $300 a pair.

  I have heard very little about the rest of this ‘package’ however.

    really? The BS22's are also a classic budget speaker, I use them at my desk.

    I imagine the centre matches nicely, but I have heard the sub in this package is nothing to write home about.

    not sure it's a deal at a grand b plus delivery.

      I see BS22’s have been as cheap as $119 for the pair. I guess that’s a good deal.

  Got the speakers seperately from Kogan for $585 a few months back. They have been great, quality of all speakers is definitely on par with the floor standers. Can't comment on the sub but have read average reviews on it, paired mine with a Yamaha sw300 instead.

  Get an extra pair of the floorstanding ones for $400 and it's an amazing 7.1 system.

  I can't vouch for the subwoofer (already had one) but I have all the other speakers and I love this system.

  I have them in a 7.1.4 Atmos setup with the 4 pioneer floor standing speakers as front LR and side surrounds, and the two bookshelf speakers as rear surrounds (using Cambridge Soundworks Take Classic satellites for the 4 height channels if anyone remembers those).

  It sounds stunning. Highly recommend for the price. You can read many reviews on US Amazon for all these speakers if you want more info. CNET also reviewed them positively a few years ago.

  I purchased this set with the 200w version of the sub for $800 at HN around 6 years ago. Still an amazing sound for the price.
