While the hybrid active NoiseGard attenuates ambient noise, the high-definition aptX® codec carves out every aural nuance in even finer detail. Thus, the trademark MOMENTUM sound becomes still more brilliant. Furthermore, the VoiceMax microphone, as an integral part of the headphones, enables you to conduct crystal-clear conversations without the need of an external microphone.

Experience a whole new quality in wireless sound. With the new MOMENTUM Wireless. Its large diaphragms and innovative technology deliver full MOMENTUM sound in new perfection. Clear, richly detailed and with a powerful bass.

-Advanced and smart
With the MOMENTUM Wireless setting up a wireless connection is even easier than to plug in a conventional Cable. It is implemented via the integrated NFC at the push of a button. In an instant, thanks to Bluetooth® 4.0 standard. Connect and enjoy the sound.

*Near Field Communication

-Timeless and immaculate
Love of detail is a main character trait of the Sennheiser MOMENTUM Wireless: With sliders made of stainless steel, and luxurious leather covering the soft, newly designed ear cushions. Its sound and its finish with accurately placed seams make the MOMENTUM a delight for all senses.

Without a Cable the MOMENTUM becomes even more puristic, reduced to the max maximum listening pleasure.

Better than buying AirPods Pro @ $249?

      Yes

      • What about the Wh-1000xm3 in terms of sound quality?

        • +6

When it comes to sound quality it really depends on what type of sound signature you like. I own a wired momentum (2nd gen) and the Wh-1000xm3. When comparing them both on wired mode, I have to say the momentums sound more clear(i.e. instruments are more separated) and have a larger sound stage, which I prefer, than the Sony's. The Sony's tend to be more bass heavy, and weaker in the mid range and vocals. I would pick using the momentums for watching movies all day and listening to music at home/office. But can't fault the Wh-1000xm3 for its superb noise cancelling for travel use.

@Penguin8213: You can play around with the equaliser and you can still get good sounds for general use.

Agree that the sennheiser feels more balanced tho

@mbck: Agree, but if you play with the EQ in the default Sony app, you lose LDAC as the Bluetooth connection setting.

Side note: the Momentum's also feel more premium.

              • +1

@Penguin8213: The slight issue with the sennheiser was the smaller ear cups. Hope the newer ones fixed this issue

              • +1

@Penguin8213: Keep in mind both are heavily bass exaggerated. The momentum 2 sound far more muddy to me, more accurate bass but just too much of it. That and the fact they are just re using the cheap 4.3 pads and drivers. Xm3 is also significantly more comfortable.

          • @Penguin8213: Agree on all of the above, I picked M2 AEBT over XM3 for music, but will add that the Sennheisers are hopeless for phone calls even in a quiet environment, I have to switch to the handset if I get a call.

I’ve had a pair for 3 years. There’s a newer model out, but these are still rock-solid. Definitely a good deal at this price.

Got mine for 248 2 yrs ago. Excellent sound quality

Got mine for 450 yrs ago. Excellent sound quality.

  • Great price. If I hadn’t just got the B&O H4 I’d have gotten this.

    • depending on your sound preference the h4 trumps the momentum by leaps and bounds

  • This makes my ears pain after 3 to 4 hours wearing, so in the middle of flight, I cannot bear with it.

    • 4hrs? Dude I can't wear socks that long.

  • Sound great but do bite into my ears after a while and need regular rearranging for relief :(
Another 2-3mm padding thickness would have been really good. I have long ears but certainly not 'stickie out' type.

    Sound is amazing.
Noise cancelling is capable on flights does the job.
Build quality is amazing, its built like a tank.
Comfort is lacking cant wear them for long flights.
have had them for about 4 years.

    • Can you turn off noise cancelling ?

      • +1

Not on this model. The next-gen you can. And has a button for GAssistant etc

        • Personally the NC on this headphone is very subtle, especially comparing to Bose Q35 which I also have and its silencing is amazing but unless it is on flight, this can be a bit instrusive in normal daily use, so the turn off function isn't as critical on the Senn's. The sound of the Senn is a bit more musical to me comparing to the Bose's.

      • When they're powered on, noise cancelling is always on. You can power them off (which disables the nc) but then obviously they need to be used wired. Using them wired, then powering on and off (to enable/disable nc) to compare, I didn't notice any difference in sound quality during a quick test. I assume a longer more careful test would identify a subtle difference.

These are my favourite daily drivers, and I've tried many headphones. Sounds quality and build quality, easy of use, battery life.

Strongly recommend third party earpads (anything that fits the Sennheiser HD650/600, fit these too) which increases comfort hugely. I hated the stock pads, made for tiny ears

    • what other headphones you tried?

  • +1

    my daily drivers, highly recommended.

  • reduced to the max maximum listening pleasure.

    I'm confused.

  • any big heads out there who tried this out?

    • Metal band, bend to fit.
I own the wired version and wear an xxl helmet.

  • Got mine delivered today and fairly impressed. So glad I pulled the trigger. Thx OP
