    U.P.?

    • Usual price?

    • usual price, i guess.

    • Yeah aka RRP, MSRP etc etc… :D

    • +7

      Outrageous RRP.

      • +1

Probably explains why it's on clearance now. Looks the goods though. Haven't picked mine up yet but looks of reasonably good quality (both the blow mould tool case and tools) in the youtube video. $80-$120 is probably a more reasonable retail price tag - somewhat of a steal at $45!

    • +4

      U.P. stands for Unrealistic Price!!

    • See, because the mods correct the terminology to “was $XXX” I’m conditioned to seeing that.

  • +4

I hope $49.99 is what they spent on the youtube advertisement

    • -1

Sounds like the same voice over guy who does the global shop direct commercials

  • If anyone picks it up, let us know if you can fit other longer tools such as a hammer which isn't included. Seems only additional compartments are on the sides with dividers which can be removed but not sure what the available length is

    • +1

Under the red top piece is quite a long space. A small hammer might go in. It has protrusions but roughly 26 x 8 x 6cm LxWxH.

      • Thanks so much for checking, are you happy with the quality of the toolbox and tools? Worth a gamble at $50?

Edit: just read your later comments. Cheers!

  • +27

What a dumbass product. I bought one though.

    • I was thinking the exactly same. And di the exactly same.

      • I'm glad I did, case is silly, tools are lovely.

  • +2

BTW how do we get 10% gc?

    • Rewards Gateway (a kind of employee benefit subscription).

      10% usual
15% from time to time, a coupe of times a year.

  • +6

I've also just realised that the 2 ratchets included are 72 tooth ratchets! These are fine tooth ratchets, your standard elcheapo ratchet may have 36 or 40 teeth. Fine tooth ratchets are the bees knees when working in confined spaces where you don't get a lot of room to swing the ratchet end. I have a 3/8 drive, 80 tooth snap on ratchet that could buy 3 of these toolpro engine toolkits - So all in all $45 for this kit and the two 72 teeth ratchets is a great deal (iirc toolpro is lifetime warranty too?)!

    • Their 3/8 toolpro 45 tooth ratchet, sold by itself is already $32!

    • -1

      Well spotted

    • Thanks for the info ;) I almost picked up a SCA 3/8 rachet set from last Saturday sales and so glad I've waited for this.

  • Great deal got one

  • +8

Stop trying to make U.P. happen, it's not going to happen.

  • Stack with 10% GCs? Is that groupon ? is there a link to the deal please.

  • +2

says made from heat treated carbon steel not cr-v so tools are as cheap as it gets …..maybe just buy the tools you need as cr-v and don’t worry about the plastic tool box ….

    • The bits I can read in the infomercial are cr-v. I will know when I pick mine up.

      • +2

Definitely CR-V, got mine in front of me. Quality tools in a tool of a box.

  • Do toolpro bits have life time warranty?

    • +1

      limited lifetime I believe

  • Wow. Did anyone mention the reviews? They love it. Check them out. A few I think are even from today. Must really be something, if you don't want one, reading the dozen + reviews makes you want to get one!

  • At 1.5% cashback, I'd probably go via Qantas shopping website, for 2 points per dollar spend.

  • +3

Guys you have to watch the video on the sca site. It’s hillarious

  • +4

What a ridiculous thing to buy. Also, bought one.

    • +4

I think you'll regret it. #buyersremorse. Have no idea of why you'd want one. I got two.

  • +1

Lol you guys are hilarious. 🤣

  • -2

    "carbon steel"

As opposed to what, non carbon-based materials they use on other planets ?

    • +2

the lack of vanadium in the alloy ….you will find most brand names user cr-v as the alloy, not just carbon ….. vanandium is most expensive than carbon but some tool ranges cheap out and omit it.

    • +3

The pricier (flagship) model is actually cybernetic organism, living tissue over a metal endoskeleton.

      Was already in the description

  • I'm wondering if I should buy, I legit don't own any tools 🤣🤣🤣

I probably need something like this, and some screwdriver set like some recently available but never know which.

It feels like everyone here owns 100 sets!

It seems like there's heaps of tool sets for sale like https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-bmc-tool-kit-117…

    • +1

SCA is lower quality than ToolPRO. The one you linked to is a nice combination, this ToolPRO deal is quality stuff, and has the extra room for you to add some extras.

    • +1

supercheap have 2 ranges, one is their tool pro range, the other is their sca range.

depending on your car , you might just need metric spanners and sockets, so why pay for imperial.

just make sure they are cr-v steel not just heat treated carbon. you will find the cheaper sca is often just carbon steel and the tool pro is cr-v.

stanley, toolpro, kinchrome, sidchrome usually make their tools from cr-v. stanley is one of the largest tool manufacturers in the world and also own sidchrome …. its the same steel. many brands come from the same foundaries. taiwan has high labour rates (higher then australia) and tool manufacturing is a huge part of their economy. so they tend to focus on value rather than cheap.

  • +1

    No delivery options now

    • There are if you order through their eBay store

  • Got the last one at the Morley store, thanks OP.

  • +1

get your mates talkng…..lol, more like laughing at you tool

    • my mates laugh at my tool almost daily. Hey, wait a minute! I mean. backs away silently

Let me guess…. OOS for you? :)

  • eBay has them here but I spoke to a store assistant and he said they weren't CR-V.

    • I have them in front of me. Says CR-V. But what do I know….

      • +1

Ah, cool. Thanks for mentioning it (just noticed your comment above too). The store rep was obviously too lazy to go and have a look. And the person in charge of noting the description (on either site) is equally inept. Life goes on.

  • Thanks OP. Bought one for hubby.

  • +1

Thanks guys, needed some shitty tools to chuck in the back of the ute. Even better that they're a little bit better than shitty! :)

    • They do look ok. The ratchets and sockets are Cr-V the spanners look ok too

  • I can still see it in stock at a few stores, however I honestly never work on my car. I'm trying to get better at saving, I know I know! I'm generally bad, I buy everything I don't need. What bloke doesn't need tools? 😬

  • I got one at a store in Perth

  • Hmm, out of stock already (not available for shipping…).

    • +1

They are available for shipping through their eBay Shop.

      • Thanks, SCA online shop can still ship.

  • I don’t like it, looks like a toy. Pass

  • +1

Not sure if it’s even worth $49.99

  • -1

    bullshit no store has stock

    • Deal posted 7 hours 43 min ago

Maybe if you weren't so slow, I bought from my local and there are still stock left

    • My local still has stock, so not BS. Actually 2 out of my 4 nearest stores have it. I would say you snooze etc, but it's still around, just not near you. Don't worry stuff is almost always sold out near me. I'm just lucky this time. Better luck next time.

    • Just bought two from the Noosa store.

  • +2

    tools case = 30 bucks
    tools = approx 40-60 bucks

so it could be a good deal.

  • Thx mate bought one of the last ones in Brisbane. Just began DIY car stuff last week. Time to grow hobby and save money.

  • Thanks mate bought one also, received the pick up text message tonight….

  • +2

No worries guys hope it's as awesome as the ad says it is. 😂

The lower model 45 tooth toolpro ratchets by themselves are $32 EACH. To get the upgraded 72 tooth versions in both 3/8" and 1/2", plus all the other tools and the awesome albeit slightly gimmicky case, is pretty good deal!

  • Probably never gonna use it, but bought one. Still available at Frankston and Pakenham.

  • Thanks OP. Bought two, one for me,one for newly 17yr old nephew. Comments on here swayed me to say 'why not' Box looks crap, tools seem decent for price. Cheers.

  • What a silly tool box design.

I bought two. One for my parents and one for me.

  • +1

Bought one just for the box, but it turns out that most pieces are actually Cr-V. The whole set should be worth $100. Biggest surprise ever from Super Cr Auto.

  • Unfortunately the case is a POS, held together with screws that just come out. Gonna have to work out how to glue it back somehow.

Tools are top quality though. Even the Allen keys are great quality!

    • Dont say you tried to FORCE the rocker covers the wrong way lol

  • Shows no stock around me. Got it delivered anyway.

Now,time to find some 13mm hex head screws to drive in.

  • +1

Tools are top quality as per all comments here.

Toolbox… It's a bit hit and miss for me. Sure the design looks cool, but some of the molds makes the tools really difficult to get out.

The sides have spaces to fit small items with predetermined compartment spaces, but the dividers can be removed which is nice. The main divider that splits it into 2 is locked in tho

    • Wish the socket extension bar was longer, difficult to reach some areas

  • 3 available at the Joondalup store in Perth.

  • ToolPro seems to be of good quality (I had the oxygen sensor toolkit, made in Taiwan).

Got the V8 Engine Block toolkit (for the tools), Not available for pickup any more (no more stock), so went with shipping.

Thanks for all those owners who has put their inputs.

  • +1

Thanks OP used it on my car today and the tools are great quality considering the price :)

  • +2

Quick tip: I took off the cover on the ratchets and they were both completely dry, greased them and now they're 1000x better.

  • Got the last one at the Cockburn store. Thanks OP and also Sir George Cockburn for lending his name to the WA city.
