  • That's expensive….. Normal people can't afford at this price point. Rich people only buy iPhones.. who's left?

    • People with money buy what they like. You don't need to be rich to buy an iPhone >_>
If your poor you could still buy an iPhone but im sure there are better uses for your money.
You can be rich and rock an A51 or 3310.
You buy what you can afford. You buy what you like. You buy what has good reviews.
Money & personal opinions are always top 2 reasons when making any purchases… especially on Ozbargin.

      • Yeah.. all rich people I know have new(er) iPhones… Although I don't know alot of rich people so what do I know.

That's a ridiculous amount to pay for a CCP spyware device…

  • $199 phone cover definately sticks it to Apple. Pfft … $1000 monitor stand - big deal.

  • $341.9 next year

    Fook me.

  • A mobile phone price is like a second-hand car price also without Google service, crazy.

  • If you want to try the foldable tablet format factor (like I did), the Galaxy Fold is a better choice.

8pm to 12pm today? So it'll go back in time 8 hours?

    • Nup, it's Groundhog Day. You should get on it so you'll have dealsforlife.

  • A gaming laptop with mid-high range graphic card and 200hz screen costs about the same.

  • People who are willing to own this might buy a public transport as their private transport.

  • I remember reading this foldable screen tech was stolen from Samsung reddit. I guess that was not proven or a deal was reached … else how are they able to sell the technology here?

When the US and it’s puppets are trying so hard to smash Huawei, you know there must be something going on.

The way we produce wine, and mine, and farm stuff, must be stolen from other continents,…… else how are we able to do all these on an isolated island?

  • +6

Nah, I wouldn't risk my data with a gadget-maker in league with a regime that runs concentration camps.

    • True and ironic, but we live in a country where we wiped out an entire nation of people. How sad.

      • +1

The difference is that the regime is doing it right now. If you think about it carefully, you might just understand the difference.

        • Yes, I understand the difference, and you dismissing the atrocities committed here make it even clearer.

          • +1

@nadan: If I pointed out the fact that the Chinese government is an authoritarian regime that's throwing their minorities into concentration camps, murdering people and harvesting organs, that DOES NOT mean that I'm dismissing the PAST atrocities that has happened elsewhere in the world. Some twisted up logic you have there.

Besides, you pointing out the past atrocities elsewhere does not make it OK for the Chinese government to commit atrocities today.

            • -1

@CocaKoala: Whilst I also condemn what the Chinese are doing to their minorities and totally condemn it. I am pointing the hypocrisy in your statement, the US has been invading other countries for their own interests and killing people. We have joined them in all of those incursions, do you boycott US products and companies and by the same virtue our own?

We are still doing a lot worse to the most unfortunate people like what we are doing to refugees.

              • @nadan:

Whilst I also condemn what the Chinese are doing to their minorities and totally condemn it.

That's news to me, because you haven't said it until now. You were in fact happy to make an incredibly lame attempt at justifying it by pointing out to the genocides of the past that took place here.

You just brought up the USA and boycotting their products like a tosser. Your original claim was that I "dismissed the atrocities committed here", which was complete bullshit.

The Chinese government's wilful negligence is the very cause of the pandemic that's taking hundreds of thousands of lives to this date. I don't think China has any competition in lacking a moral compass.

                • @CocaKoala: Going by your lame attempt to not buy Chinese product because they are committing human right violations. And I am asking if you will do the same with US and its products?
Proof or just hot air, that the Chinese are taking hundreds of thousands of lives?
You also ignored the point about our treatment of refugees?

                  • +1

@nadan: When I point out what China is doing, you were talking about what happened in Australia's past. When I pointed out the slavery and murder and organ harvesting (the organ harvesting you couldn't copy as nobody but China does something this nasty), you were telling me how the US has killed people in a war. You even copied usage of the "lame" word in a pathetic and empty attempt to retort.

My question is - why do you need to copy everything I say? This is exactly what China does - it performs a shameless and state-sanctioned IP theft of other countries.

I'm going to make this one simple enough for you to understand. China is the biggest of all evil, and I am going to deal with that evil on priority, so the others are going to have to wait.

                    • @CocaKoala: No, I am drawing parallel to your argument "that because China is committing human rights violations then we shouldn't be buying Chinese products".
I am asking you, if you would do the same with US as an example or our own country, because we are committing the same violations.
Pfft, if you can't provide evidence then you are just one of those gullible.

                      • @nadan:

because we are committing the same violations

You seem to be having difficulties differentiating the past from the present. I am not sure I could make it any simpler than that.

If you want "evidence" that China is an evil, morally reprehensible oppressive regime, you are either far too braiwashed that you cannot see something bleeding obvious, or are actually with the Chinese regime in one way or another. I'm not about waste any more of my time with you.

  • My first SmartPhone was a Huawei U8300, back when they were considered "Cheap Chinese crap". I kinda liked its ugly squashed out laptop design.

Heard people bragging about how amazing the iPhone was but literally every simple feature that a basic polyphonic phone could have, Apple lacked, made unnecessarily convoluted or otherwise limited.
I considered them pretty phones, not smart phones, which is why Android piqued my interest, essentially Windows for a phone (because actual Windows Mobile was pretty user-unfriendly).

These days however, while I believe they're still convoluted, limited & lacking, I'll concede that with the amount of apps & developer support, they are indeed truly smart phones. Still not my kind of phone though. I'd still consider Huawei's if it weren't for the war on them by the USA, Oppo it is.

Brainwashed by CCP propaganda. Not joking. My wife's colleague at work is the same.

    • Well, The USA and allies (particularly from WW2: England / Britain and some European countries) already succeeded in defeating Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and some other Asian and non-Asian countries (India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Mexico, African countries, Middle-Eastern countries, etc). It's only natural that they want to take over China completely now. The US, British and allies keep preaching like they're saints and accusing non-allied countries for breaking human rights or having a Weapon of Mass Destruction but they killed most native Americans, indigenous Australian and other native people to take control of their land, oil, resources and people. Then they say they're democratic countries but when US government agency whistleblower like Snowden exposed how the government exploited mass surveillance on the citizen, they deemed him as a criminal or an enemy of the country and tried to imprison him so he had to exile. Google, Facebook, etc are also probably working with the US government to spy on you. Such a bunch of hypocrites.

I wouldn't be supporting CCP or the spyware devices they're putting out. The price is a complete joke as well.

    • good luck with Trump looking after your personal data with google and apple.

      • The bigoted and fools will always consider him a champ. And these fools don't care about what they provide to any other corporations from around the world. The current law-suit against google for actively tracking you offline, I bet their answer would be it is ok.
