      • two time and not work twice. Big Fail 2. LOL everyone is trying to save their $1.25. The economy is worse than we think.

    • Same here

  • Sorry! We can't seem to process your payment at this time
    Please try again later.
    Refresh page

  • Might not be a quota on giftcards but a quota on ability to take payment hehehehe

  • Ozbargained.

  • +1

I've got the same error, but after 2nd try order was successful!
    Thanks TA!

  • +2

Extra $0.25 off my next $100 GC purchase ($94.75 vs the usual $95.00).

Purchased using my Amex Platinum edge. Anyone can tell me if the resultant loss of 3MR points (point earn calculated on $94 rounded down) is worth the $0.25 savings?

    • Treading on thin ice there.

      • I'm just trying to be professional here.

  • about 9th try and finally worked

    • Why do you want negs? Anyway gave you one.

  • It took a few times for it to work, but in the end the order went through.

  • +4

Failed on 2 cards - I guess it's not meant to be! The next time I reach for that Kit Kat I'll remember I don't deserve it, thanks TA for looking after my health! :)

  • Worked now

  • finally got it on the 7th go…

  • +1

no issues for me whatsoever, thank you TA

  • +1

After several failed attempts I managed to order at 11:14am. Gift cards arrived at 11:23am.

  • Yay, half an hour and 5 tries later.. ;)

    • +2

lol all that trouble to save a couple of cents …

      • +1

        Yeah well..

I literally used up the last of my current Wish card funds this morning on the way to work.
Needed a top up anyway. Can't complain about an extra .25 ontop of the usual 5% I was going to purchase anyway :D

  • +1

Given the payment troubles, I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle or the possible issues to save up to $1.25.

    • No limit that I'm aware of !
eg 10 X $500 save $12.50 more than normal max in checkout .
Repeat . But unfortunately the % doesn't cut it to buy that many form anticipated future spending lol.

      • are there any pre-reqs for the $10 referral?

I used someone's referral to sign up, but CB declined the 10

  • Awesome, thanks.

  • +2

Yeah, but if it was 0.25% off your home loan, we'd be losing our minds.

  • I got the call for "random" verification check on the gift card purchase .. all good

  • Dunno about all the issues noted above, went through first time for me just now. I guess you lot may have overloaded it in the first few minutes.

  • +1

when does the dollar value expire on the eGift card. ie how long before i loose my money if I dont use it straight away?

    • +2

      From my previous purchase:

      1. This eGift Card has no expiry date.
  • Worked for me, thanks OP!
    Used custom amount $30.

  • +2

Top tip - install the Woolworths money app then click on the link in the email for the gift card and when it asks you, select "open in Money" app and the cards will be added to the app for you, automagically.

    • +1

      With automatic updating balance :)

      • +1

        This is a top tip!
Beats saving it as a screencap into Dropbox and using the S-Pen from my Note to scribble down the remaining balance like a Neanderthal.

  • +1

Thanks TA. It's nice to have an extra discount on the giftcards once in a while.

  • +3

Hot hot hot! With those savings I'll have saved enough for that dream holiday in no time!

  • +1

Thanks tightarse I came out to buy this today. feels good.

  • +7

    To inform your purchasing decision:

This is a bit more than a 0.25% discount compared to the normal 5% (a bit more than 0.25% because 94.75/95)

A high interest savings account earns 1.6% p.a. (roughly 0.13% per month). So don't buy more than 2 months of your typical Woolworths spend otherwise you will be out on interest. I haven't accounted for tax on interest, so maybe it's more like 3 months or so.

    • Good point. Woolworths seems to be the big winner out of this deal.

    • A further 4.5% cash back from Amex.. how does that compute now?

I bought about 3 months worth, less if I start driving more to see customers

      • A further 4.5% cash back from Amex.. how does that compute now?

Not everyone holds that Amex card.
$1450 pay to play annual fee.

      • Similar logic applies because you always have access to the 4.5% cashback (I presume?) and the 5% standard offer. Wouldn't want to shell out more than 2-3 months of use for that extra 0.25%.

        • The extra cashback is till late July only.. hopefully extended but no news yet

  • +2

Made it on the 3rd attempt after a break of 45 mins. Bought $400 worth. Anything to save an extra $1. Thanks TA.

  • +1

tried twice, not able to process payment. system is broken.

    • +1

Trying to get some now :(

EDIT: Retry payment, for around 10 minutes it seems, their payment must have glitched.

I just put in an order, it works again as of 1:12PM AEST (UTC +10:00)

  • +2

Seems to be ozbargained, I can't believe people are stampeding for this…

I actually need some gift cards as I have run out…

    • Retry payment, for around 10 minutes it seems, their payment must have glitched.

I just put in an order, it works again as of 1:12PM AEST (UTC +10:00)

    • i've had the same issues without a deal, woolworths system is wonky. on top of that there seems to be widespread banking problems today even at other places.

  • +2

Just bought up, EOFY soon and this is perfect to pay tax debts with the ATO at a discount!

  • Can't get through payment !!

    • Only to save 50 cents !

    • Retry payment, for around 10 minutes it seems, their payment must have glitched.

    thanks TA! I ordered one

So funny how Oz bargain gets excited by an extra 25c saving over $100 gift card.

    • funny this was enough for me to buy an wish egiftcard for the first time to see what all the fuss is about

  • Does it stack if I buy through AGL rewards?

  • Finally managed to get $200 gc

  • Suncorp is currently doing 5% with instant delivery which is a better deal for me

    • This is normally a 10-15 minute delay…
For large transactions, 0.25% is very significant.

      • Yeap 2k I save $5 more and I will make sure I will run to Macca's and pay for most of my Big Mac with the extra savings .

    • yep, via suncorp is much much easier

      • Or even macq 4% is just worth it too for the convenience

        • not using gift cards at all is even more convenient.

      • Suncorp also has buying limits, the payment portals (CR, Ent Book, SB) do not have buying limits (as long as you can pay)

  • I've got the point after skimming the comments.
    I pass

  • +2

Make no mistake, the purpose of this promotion is to fatten up Woolworths sales figures prior to the EOFY to feed to the shareholders.
The shareholders will be none the wiser the figures are supported by a bunch of Ozbargainers stocking up on gift cards they haven't redeemed.

    • +2

This doesn't fatten sales figures, it increases "unearned revenue", and unsecured debt figures (that's what gift cards are), i.e. pumps up the cashflow :)

Also looks like CR approached Woolies for the deal

More savings for us hey? :D

      • Easy dough for Woolies with average of around 6% will remain unused and that where the major profits are at .
I'm surprised more aren't involved in the discount card wars because of that !
I will add Coles not so smart move withdrawing from multiple merchants .

        • -1

coles overall just seem like a much better run business. The redemption rate on grocery gift card would be much much higher than for other businesses.

woolies probably do it more to cook the books than rely on them not being redeemed.

  • +1

    Worked for me, thank you!

  • No luck so far. Have tried many times in the last few hours. Just keeps saying that it cant process at this time!

    • For queries regarding the purchase of Woolworths Gift Cards, contact Woolworths Customer Contact Centre on 1300 10 1234 (Mon-Fri 9am-7pm AEST, Sat/Sun 10am-4pm AEST).

    • Do you have access to a different credit or debit card, you could use. I always run into problems with a particular card, recently when buying Woolworths gift cards.

  • Any savings - no matter how small - is a saving (and can get accumulated over the year). So Thumbs up for the deal. I got a $60 gc yesterday with the existing 5% so missed out on $0.15 savings :(

  • +3

Appreciate the effort from TA but surely the number of plus votes for this "deal" is absurdly high considering the benefit is only $0.25 per $100 spent (vs the standard 5% discount).

    • Given that Woolies makes up a large percentage of household expenditure, this is significant.

the benefit is only $0.25 per $100 spent (vs the standard 5% discount).

I spend much more than $100 on groceries on a yearly basis…

      • +1

My bad I use to dump my trolley with a $1 in it equivalent to $400 of the extra savings with this deal .
In the end I figured to buy some plastic device on my key chain that opens all the major trolleys so I don't squander that buck again .

      • +5

Yes but say you spend $10,000 a year at Woolies, the benefit would be only $25 for the whole year (vs standard 5% off). And that means you would have $10,000 tied up in Woolies gift cards that you cannot use for anything else. Not to mention the risk of losing or misplacing the gift cards. Personally I only buy the gift cards as I need them. I would never stock up $10,000 worth of gift cards.

        • +1

Not to mention the risk of losing or misplacing the gift cards.

How do you.. misplace an eGift card..?

Personally I only buy the gift cards as I need them.

Normally, I do too, unless there's a promotion and then I calculate what the extra benefit is, compared to holding the cash in other forms is.
I hold as little eGift as possible, apart from supermarkets which I can plan my foreseeable future spend with.

          • @cwongtech: A lot do hold as little as possible then when a big sale comes all the merchant don't have $500's as mid night warriors have already targeted them leaving the scraps of $100's for people to get caught with their pant down with max card limits of cards you can use .

For me if exceptional like 10% Ebay last year I will hit till I run out of funds :)

          • @cwongtech: Could lose it in your email.

    • Yeah, well if I buy $1 million on it I can save um, I can't do the maths.

      • $2500, but If you had a spare $ million, you would not even know what gift cards are…..

    • FYI, CR offered special 5.5% and 5.75% off in the past. Hold off if you do not have big purchases soon. Nothing can be guaranteed, though.

  • Thanks! Saved an 30c!

  • +1

Purchased and received in 3-minutes ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป thanks TA! I wonโ€™t spend that extra $2.50 all at once ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • +1

Anyone else still waiting on their eGC?

    • +2

      Is this your first purchase?

      1) Go back to the cashrewards link
      2) While in the woolies portal, click on your name at the top right
      3) Click "My Orders"
      4) Look at the order you made, if it's In Progress, woolies may be holding your order for verification, if it's your first purchase, might take up to 24 hours, subsequent orders are VERY fast, in the order of within 15 minutes

      See image here for example

      • Not my first order and in past experience I had received it almost instantly.
Order is showing IN PROGRESS. Will wait till tomorrow and see.

        • +1

Mine occasionally is In Progress as well, if it doesn't release in 24 hrs give them a call, they're quite friendly

          • @cwongtech: Unfortunately, there has been an error processing your order.
As a result, we are cancelling the following item(s) from your order…

            Oh well.

  • loaded up in preparation for the bigw lego sale.
