Looks like a good price on a top end Dell Inspiron 14" which gets good reviews from the tech press, even against the XPS range.

Note of caution: I bought a similar model a couple of months ago on sale and whilst the specs are great for the price, the exterior casing seems to be a painted plastic which scuffs/scratches really easily. It's only had occasional use but now looks like it's several years old.

We sent photos to Dell who decided it's general wear and tear, which I find unacceptable for something they describe to be made with 'premium materials' - it's like it's missing a protective coating or something.

    • It says this is magnesium alloy on the outer, not plastic. Maybe they’ve upgraded it.

      • I’d read magnesium alloy pre-purchase but it wasn’t clear which parts - I’d assumed the interior chassis rather than the external case. Either way, a scuff/chip showed a different colour underneath

  • Any idea of battery life?

  • Can a LTE card be added to the laptop afterwards?

  • Hi Guys, How do you use the two discount codes together? Dell seems to accept each of them, when submitted independently, but not the two of them together. I tried entering them both one after the other and simultaneously (with coma, break, semicolon etc.) None of these worked. Any advice? Thanks

  • Picked this up but was too late for HONEY7 to work, got EPP5 plus 10% shopback though so still good :)
