    • ebay are as much in on this as the sellers..

you think ebay don't know this price jacking shit
and yet they still condone it..

  • +2

Futu has a 3700x listed for $655 lmao

  • +2

eBay should fire the one in charge of planning promotions. He/she can do much better by not doing anything at all.

  • The search bar on the main deal page doesn't seem to include everything, e.g. code works on appliancecentral's items but none of them could be found through the search bar, I just had these all on watchlists from before.

  • +5

Fake promotion everything is price jacked. if you are lucky enough to find something it's more likely to be a mistake that they forgot to price jack.

    • +1

Definitely, more of a game of "find the price error".

  • eBay has jacked up the price, remember to compare the price before buying

  • +3

Is it just me? Looking at thiis global whetsone. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Global-Small-Combination-Water-W…

House selling for $52.99, whereas on ebay after discount is $60..meh..

  • Lol 'special' deals! Seagate 4TB Portable with 20% discount sells for $158 after discount, while same thing on Amazon sells for $157.

  • +3

This is why I very rarely purchase anything from ebay these days, scammy !

  • Cant find no TVs in the list :(

  • +3

Why does ebay keep getting away with this. People see bay and they upvote. They know this so they keep feeding us deals that get worst as time goes on. Remember a period when we all got 15% sitewide, then it went to 10%, 5%, now they give us 2% and it still gets upvoted like crazy. In a few years Ebay will hit frontpage by giving us 0.1% discount

    • tell the OP that regularly post these deals to not post them

all these people are just as accountable
      -ebay
      -sellers
-ozbargain posters who are promoting these deals + all those other deals that promote these codes in them

  • +2

Not enough stock to post as its own deal, but 2 left of the DJI Mavic Air 2 Flymore for $1575 using PMON20 code. No price jacking and best price ever for this new drone. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DJI-Mavic-Air-2-Quadcopter-Drone…

    • +1

Good one. There are bargains but you will have to work for it. The main EBay search link for this deal does not show everything though. Look at the less well known stores which do not hold big inventory. Forget about the usual suspects like Futu, Shopping Square etc

  • +1

    AU $919.95 For Synology DS918+. EPIC …. jack-s

  • 3950x for $1070ish? Yer yer :)

  • +3

I've filed a report at the ACCC for pricejacking.

    • +3

Where do I sign? eBay has to take some responsibility for this like facebook and twitter do on the Trump trash…

      • +1

@mrbillions you have to file a report at https://www.accc.gov.au/contact-us/contact-the-accc/report-a…

I stated that eBay Plus is advertising a discount of 20% off select items, but beforehand they raised the RRP above 20%. Further, ebay Plus is a paid product and one of the benefits is discounts - this is clearly deceptive and misleading advertising.

I also attached a link to this post that states it occurs frequently and many customers are affected by it.

    • I don’t disagree that the price jacking is complete BS. But I think the problem is the average eBay seller doesn’t even come close to having a 20% margin on a product. And even if eBay pays 10% of these deals, without jacking, in some cases the seller would be selling at cost. It’s no excuse for deceitful selling of course and so I support your ACCC complaint. Just these retailers who don’t buy in bulk are instead buying from wholesalers at only a bit cheaper than RRP and scrape by with maybe a 5-10% margin in top.

      • +2

Fair point, then don't advertise on a ebay sale. No one put a gun to the head of these sellers to put listing on a EBAY sale nor anyone force them to sell under cost. What everyone is pointing out here is if you advertise a 20% sale, your basic benchmark is RRP at 20%. If you can't do it, don't come abroad. Sellers want the exposure but doesn't want to pay for it. That is again stingy.

        • Agreed. I wonder what incentive eBay offers them to offer such a deal which damages the reputation of the sellers themselves. I think eBay wants to be like Amazon, able to offer deals and sales, but Amazon generally does deals on 'Prime' products which it distributes, not so much its marketplace which is exactly what eBay is.

  • EOFY deals are absolutely trash this year. EBay Plus has removed all the good value offers we used to get

  • +1

Ebay's own search doesn't even work!
"Search 20% off* Top Picks" for DJI and the code doesn't apply to any one of them. What a waste of time. C'mon ebay, lift your game, not your prices!

    • lolz

  • +1

    Nearly 30% are negs

  • Everything is price jacked

  • +1

when the promo is over, do they normally revise the prices down again?

    • if they don't there is no point for them to be in the market.

  • Asus a15, normally $1699, now $1899.

Jack D. Price, I hate you!

  • any chance cashrewards or shopback?

code isnt listed on either page

  • I miss when Ebay just had deals for everyone instead of these ebay plus BS deals

  • Time and time again it's proving that price-jacking exists and yet here we are with eBay deceptive deals being posted. If this were any other seller they'd get banned but it's eBay so the mindless up-voting continues. Enough is enough.

How does one hide 'eBay Plus' deals?

    • Very good point, I am sure ozbargain create a lot of traffic for EBAY Australia. Wouldn't it make sense for OZB to take this up with Ebay instead of going through all that ACCC BS? I know I will do it if I own a web site as influential as OZB.

  • any sodastream experts here????

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SodaKING-Red-Adventurer-Home-Sod…

20% off brings it down to $45

is there any realisic difference in quality vs the $19 one on 25/06

im looking at buying one solely for soda water

  • Another pricejacked ebay sale. Yawn.

  • ebay is a joke these days - ebay plus sellers routinely don't ship to perth metro - that includes dan murphys - changes from day to day - its absolute shit

  • "Sounds good doesn't work" meme.

  • shopping express' items have all been reinstated. some decent deals, that are not price jacked.

If the usual 100 whiners here actually bought what IS covered, and not lamented what is NOT, they'd save money.

Sorry, you are not going to buy $100 bills for $90 off anyone - get that basic business reality through your head and your blood pressure will be lowered!

Just bought 10 bottles of Campari from Dan Murphy for $29.50 each, delivered free to my door.

Campari Bitter Aperitif 700mL Spirits bottle

    Total: AU $295.60

Got 300 Amex points and 300 Virgin points on that too.

Was going to but them from Woolies Liquor today for $40 a bottle. My local bottle ship has them for $45.

So I save $100 and do not get off my chair.

Dam Murphy price was not JACKED UP which is the usual hloow Yodel Wails from these walls. It is their normal ebay price and is lowest I can see anywhere.

    • Dam Murphy and local bottle shop price are jacked up by default already. Why do you think I can buy cheaper alcohol in Philippine than in Australia?

You need to to see what everyone is talking about. Most of us are referring to tech and electronic goods. Like i said before in an another comment. Most OZB are challenging seller selling over RRP and than listed in the 20% discount sale.

We also understand as previously someone else pont out that etailers likely not make enough margin to cover even 10% discount. That's all hanky dory. Mo one force etailer to list on a 20% discount sale, p*** off and don't participle, but dont come on to get the exposure and traffic then complain you can't cover the discount and have to make up pirce. That is plain greedy business practice.

    • dan murphys cancel orders , run a shit ebay store, don't operate freeshipping unless it suits them despite being ebayplus, and their so called customer service is non- existent.

Since their woolys its difficult to expect anything of quality from them because Woolys are even worse.

  • -2

"Why do you think I can buy cheaper alcohol in Philippine than in Australia?"

Why? Federal Government Liquor and Excise taxes. Ever heard of those?

As anyone knows except you it seems. Same with petrol, same with cigarettes etc. Nothing to do with ebay!

Why not fly to the Philippines and stock up. Or Brazil - lower still. Only a DOLLAR OR so a bottle cheaper actually but lets not be sane in these discussion for goodness sakes - it might catch on.

Oops no fights. And 2 weeks mandatory isolation even if you swim up there. There is a flaw.

And 2 bottles legal limit too. Darn. Can't buy 10 bottles as I just did from my office chair.

I bought my 10 bottles of Campari at the lowest price in the country, delivered right to my door, and got it for $100 less than BWS, all thanks to this ebay promo that the Perpetual Whiners here poo poo each and every time they run them.

It is sad to see this whining here repeat itself time and time again. Like spoiled kids.

    • +1

actually you appear to be generating friction because you are of the opinion that somehow your opinion is worth more than anyones elses.

    • Why? Federal Government Liquor and Excise taxes.

OK but how does 1st Choice outgun Dam Murphy on price?

My point thought, was Alcohol don't need to price jack because they are over priced by default and more importantly bu the retailer.

Now is electronic and tech goods already over priced? Most OZBs seems to think so but also many suggest that the over price was not engineered by the retailer but the manufacturer (Sony cameras, Iphone..). Hence the argument of ebay seller don't even have enough margin to cover 10% discount assume that ebay is paying for the other 10%.

Allphone use to do it and it was reported widely on news which must have such a big impact on their company that they restrain from doing that now. They now do RRP with the corresponding discount. So very rare they now have smashing deals but at least that is not misleading customer anymore. THAT is what we thing should outlawed in Ebay.

Petry, certainly MOST opinions are certainly worth more than this nonsense you just posted, so it really would not be that hard to do. :-)

"dan murphys cancel orders , run a shit ebay store, don't operate freeshipping unless it suits them despite being ebayplus, and their so called customer service is non- existent."

    • those are facts mate - not opinions.

  • I was looking for a mouse, these are $79 RRP, jacked up 20% to $99 for this sale..
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Logitech-M720-Triathlon-Wireless…

I ended up buying one elsewhere for $60..

  • Jackol….

  • It's hard not to look at these deals as a con, if not a scam, which basically confuses people enough to buy something they thing might be cheaper. Why not make the search easier, search this box, these items are eligible. Almost everything has an ebay plus logo, but then doesn't appear in their search. Is it eligible or not?

  • F… this code, found a couple of computing deals under the tab and for the life of me cannot get the code to work.
I am ebay plus member and active.
Have not used the code before.
Items definitely listed in the 20% section
