  • is this the cam 2?

    • -1

Yes, that's the most expensive version AFAIK

    • +1

No it's not. The hub is the giveaway that this is the first gen.

      • As Pecan says, this is the first generation eufyCam - you can see the comparison here:
        https://technicallywell.com/eufycam-1-vs-eufycam-2/

In the USA they sell a 4 camera eufyCam 2 kit with Homebase 2 (see blue light dot on the newer homebase) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081STVPB8 - but it doesn't seem to be available in Australia as yet.

        • hows this compared to eufy 2c ?

        • So its better to wait for the cam 2 version

          • @asa79: @asa79: We've been waiting for the cam 2 for months. It doesn't even have an Australian release date

        • I'm pretty sure the eufy 2 doesn't include an AI system but the eufy does for sure.

          • @pomchu: For facial recognition was what I meant to say.

good to hear no broblems with the bricebeat.

      Smarta$$

  • with the price beat, what was the overall cost?

    • Order Total $854.15

      • decent discount. checked my local stores and none of them have in stock. do you know if they'll price beat for items they have to order in?

        • Yes they will, my store hasn't had stock either and had to order it in. No problem at all.

  • How does AMZ perform in terms of warranty for expensive electronics devices like this? For other retail, you'll bring them to the shop and argue with them. What do you have to do with AMZ? Do you need to ship the items back to them?

    • Usually you send it back to them. They are very flexible and helpful. However, I would always chose officeworks over Amazon for that exact reason. Especially 8f it's cheaper too

  • Gen1 Homebase.

  • Is this the only variant that has a battery in the home base?
My understanding is the 2 and 2C no longer have it?

  • Anyone know if the cams can be connected to the New home base 2?

Will have a spare from the wireless doorbell which comes with home base 2, and thinking about splitting the cams with a mate.

    • Apparently there was an update, so now newer cams are compatible with older homebase. Older cameras I think are fine with new Homebase 2.
The thing that's really puzzling me is that I just bought this exact kit, and the cameras are marked as Eufycam, but have the same model number as the Eufycam 2 ! T8114. But Eufycam 2 cameras have the name EufyCam 2 ! But same model number!?>!? It's so confusing… Now I have no idea what version camera is shipped with this kit (but if definitely has Homebase 1).

      • Where did you buy from?

        • This exact listing!

          • @lainey13: When you said 'and the cameras are marked' it suggested you already had them. It would be unusual to receive gen 2 cameras with a gen 1 base but wait and see what happens I guess. FWIW my cams are gen 1 with model numbers 8111.

            • @pomchu: I purchased at the start of the week when they were 1058 because I also bought an echo show 8 and got 20% off (although I had to do it manually since the deal is a bit broken). So they arrived yesterday. I can see they have the words 'eufycam' on them (no 2) and yet they have model number 8114. Which apparently the eufycam 2 has as well. But eufycam 2 has the number '2' next to eufyucam. Hence.. so much confusion as to what these cameras are!

              • +1

@lainey13: It seems you scored the eufycam 2. It has a higher quality sensor I believe so I'd be pretty happy if I were you.

                • @pomchu: Just received confirmation from anker they are progressively rolling out the eufycam 2 with the packs that have homebase 1. So I did indeed score woot!

  • Is there an option to buy the cameras by itself and use the gen 2 base from the door bell deal?. Will there be any compatibility issues?

  • How do you get the price down to 899?
    It shows 1029 now?

    • The price was $899.10 a day or two ago

      • Hmm thanks for letting me know. this should be marked as expired then…

  • As I did mentioned in another previous post, I have purchased the similar eufy kit with 2 camera system. Eufy homebase is gen 1 with removable microsd card, eufycam is gen 2 with improved Sony sensor. I have purchased two kits and they are the same, so I assumed all Australian stock should be gen 1 homebase and gen 2 eufycam. Eufycam 2c can connect to gen 1 homebase without issue.
