Popped into harvey norman Alexandria and they have a huge car park sale…just picked up 1tb hard drive for $59, canon wireless multifunction $59 think its only for this weekend. never seen a laptop with 6gb ram for $397 dont need one but thought it was cheap. up stairs they have a bonus 32" tv and asus netbook with optus connections and up to 50% off outright and prepaid phones. looks like they are clearing out everything, too many specials to list but worth heading down in my opinion. oh an electrical have 'buy one and get the second item half price.

    No deal whatsoever here. With 400 bucks you can get a much better spec from Lenovo elsewhere.

      Yeah 6 GB ram means not much, how can you decide and compare with other deals by just looking at the ram?

    about the 1tb hdd, is that internal or external? i bought a 1tb internal sata2 for $49 a while back, to paraphrase their ad jingle 'hardly normal, you've done it again…!'

      here the catch is Optus ;-))..i think the plan is for 24 months on $49 cap.it means 1176 you would be getting a tv + netbook and if something goes wrong with these two then you have a phone to call the customer service !!! good one..

        why would you need to call optus? they would have a standard warranty like anything else and you would get a proof of purchase on delivery or with your plan.

    why it is only for the weekend? my current company is just there, i can check it out in any weekdays by the end of next wednesday (my last day there). anyway i will check it again next week, then i wont get back there.

    Save yourself the hassles, went and saw lots of people and lots of junk. That Asus laptop is old tech C2D 2.0Ghz with 6GB of RAM, but you can get a Lenovo i3 with 4GB of ram for $450 (last week when they had the cash back on) with a dedicated 1GB video. Sorry forgot model number. Lots of old stock items. Not many were buying looking at it.

    I would pay $100 for a 15.6" laptop with a C50 in it. Absolutely no higher.

    The TV that comes with the Optus deal is an old series 4 samsung 32" with standard HD which you receive when you go on a Optus $79 cap plan for 24 months, If you go for a $49 cap for 24 months you receive a netbook.

    I took the $59 cap and made a deal with the rep from HN to receive a ps3 160gb console with extended 2 years replacement warranty, worked out well as i was in the market for a new phone and ps3. Hope this helps.
