      You're comparing 'upscaled 4k' to proper 4k resolution….you certainly get what you pay for with Swann

    Wow, just wow! Amazing value. I got the NVR8-8580 with four NHD-866MSD's (domes, not bullets, I wanted a smaller profile) for $960 a month ago and thought that was a good deal, this one is amazing!

    You'll find a ton of negative reviews about Swann and their products but I'm yet to find a reason to not like my system. I tend to think people are comparing champagne products to beer budgets - My Swann setup didn't cost me $2,000 and I don't need to be able to read a license plate on a car 15m away from the camera. The iPhone app works simply, the PC program (HomeSafe View) is a little gritty to use but it's intuitive and you can copy video without having to plug a USB into the system.

    The clarity of the 5MP is pretty damn good and the sensitivity of the mic is better than the spec says - can easily pic up people's conversations of people walking on the street, well over the 5 metres it claims.

    The night vision is pretty good quality around my house. It doesn't go 40m as claimed, however that's because we have things that bounce the infrared back and block it from reaching very far.

    If I didn't already have a system, I'd buy this one in a heartbeat.

    I think it's better to go with 6 ip camera nvr setup, which is around 1390, first time users also get 10% off, bringing it down to around 1250. This was originally rrp around 1700

    Waiting for ipad to advise if there any further discount possible before buying.

    Also these cameras are two way with 2 leds, you can talk aand active siren and lights.
    Was hoping if someone can advise if there can be bought for less.

    Anyone has recommendations for good installers.
