  • So how much is a tin of Eclipse mints? That would have to be added to the $18 for the total cost. Other things to note are that it's valid Mon-Thu only and that two people have go to the same film at the same session.

  • two people have go to the same film at the same session

Because most people go to the cinemas alone.

    • I'd like the flexibility to go alone or with others. Also what do you do when you have an odd number in your party? One person has to pay full price.

Just divide the total cost by the number of people.

        • Which makes it less of a bargain. E.g. 3 people for $18 + 1 full price. Might as well buy some Cinemasavers.

        • Of course, but the deal was for two people, not three.

        • I'm just pointing out that there are these restrictions which make it less appealing.

$18 to see a movie ? That's a bargain ? Wow, the last time I went to see a movie the tickets were $12… Glad I wait for the bluray.

    • It's $18 for two, but you have to buy Eclipse mints, and there are conditions, which are stated.

      • It is $18 for one and then they give you a freebie. 2 for 1.

      • It is $18 for one and then they give you a freebie. 2 for 1.

        • I realise, I was just commenting that one ticket alone is $18 without this "deal". When did it cost so much to see a movie ? I haven't been in a few years.

        • Sorry auslade the comment was for greenpossum. I agree with you 18 is way too dear and nowhere near the price of a normal ticket.

Sorry for the multiple double posts. No idea why it is doing it. Posting from an iPad.

    • I've never paid $18 for a normal movie. Being a cheapskate I take advantage of tight@ss Tuesdays, offers, savers, concessions, etc. I also avoid 3D unless I feel it's really worth it.

Not quite sure I understand this. Can someone explain? Are you choosing the movie and session when you purchase your $18 ticket? Then when you go to the cinema you tell them, actually I'd like another ticket… What if the movie is booked out? What if the cinema you go to has seat numbers - you can't sit adjacent to each other?

Also does this include booking fee?

Had a look at the website but couldn't figure it out..

  • only saving $2 off optus tickets which can be used nearly all the time.

cinemas are such a rip off at normal prices now

    The OzBargain alternative:

Free DVD rental from OOVIE or Red Box and a bag of ALDI mints for 99c. Keep the attendance limit under 20, so nobody rounds down and is forced to pay up the whole 5c minimum admission fee.

    • I wish Aldi would bring back the strong mints though.

  • So they are saying that the tickets are Normally $18 per person. I don't know any cinema on the gold coast that is that price. Even the gold class ticket at bcc Australia fair is less than that. and their normal seat price is $7.50

    • In Melbourne standard tickets at the two majors are around $18, with Gold Class significantly more.

  • Thanks OP, got one today. Didn't read that the voucher was only valid from monday to thursday - woops.

We usually get charged $12 a Movie so saved $4 after the mints.

no one should have to pay more than $10 a ticket, and I refuse to pay extra for things like 3D, Vmax (which used to be free, all the new movies went Vmax) etc. There are plenty of ways for cheaper movie tickets with Optus, Rydges, books of tickets etc.
