  • no cashrewards?

    • 15.0% Standard Cashback

    • I don't see why you dont get 15% off as well. Comes down to $671 if it works!

    • +1

This will not stack with Cashrewards (or Shopback) as they're not listed coupons on their site. You can try but it'll likely be rejected.

Good i needed an excuse not to buy!

Anyone who's hopeful they'll get 15% cashback on top should probably read this first: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/546109#comment-8884453

    • Oh thats unfortunate.

  • This or S2719DC please?

    • +1

S2719DC doesnt have a vesa mount if that matters to you. But there are aftermarket ones on Amazon for $70+

    • +10

Since Dell is trying to clear old stock the S2719DC is currently on sale for around $552 delivered.

However you can get a U2720Q Refurbished from Dell for $609 if you check their Dell Outlet for stock everyday around 7pm - 8pm.

      Pros and cons:
S2719DC has a brighter screen and supports HDR600.
1440p is the sweet spot. Text shouldn't be too small compared to 2160p (U2720Q)
Has -5% less DCI-P3 in colour gamut compared to U2720Q
Only supports up to 40W charging for USB-C laptops (Only sufficient for low powered ultrabooks around 13inches)
      Released in 2018

      U2720Q
      Released in January 2020.
Peak brightness is only 450nits for HDR mode. Typical brightness is 350nits.
USB-C charging up to 90W for high powered laptops like Dell XPS 15, MacBook Pro 16 and up.
      Supports 10-bit colour
Higher coverage of the color gamut at 100 SRGB and 95% DCI-P3
Has height, tilt and swivel adjustments
      Has VESA mount support

      • Thanks mate

      • Awesome summary. Thanks.

  • 4K @ 60Hz or 2K @144Hz ??

    • Depends on your needs.

      imo…you should get

2K @144Hz for gaming especially any game that benefits from fast response.

      or

4K @60Hz for media consumption and content creation

      • Play mostly Starcraft and browsing Ozbargain :)

How much are 4K at 144Hz?

        • +2

Not cheap at all, I think the one I bought was around $2100 (looks like you can get them for ~$1500 now). It was a mistake as well, even my 2080Ti couldn't run everything at 4k 144hz. Unless you're only playing low demanding games there's so many games that will run closer to the 60-80 FPS range on high settings at 4k. IMO 1440p 144hz is the way to go.

        • 4K 144Hz is pretty pointless. I got the XV273KP (1k3 at the time, around $800 on some deals a while ago) intended for work + gaming. While it was nice for documents and coding, gaming was a disaster, cannot play any AAA game on high above 60fps on a 2080. Running game in 1080p on it was much worse (quality wise) than on a 1440p monitor.

    • I would get both… if I didn't have an ultrawide already.

I actually had dual monitor setup 4k 60hz and 1440p 144hz briefly before I sold them and bought the ultrawide. The dual setup is nice balance between works/game/media. If you must have only 1 monitor, get a 1440p 144hz ultrawide.

  • Pretty good price, fairly bit upgrade over U2718Q with much better colour depth.

  • Thanks, great timing, I was just looking at this monitor today.

  • Can you plug two of these monitors together and then have one USB cable going to your MacBook?

    • Yep you can use the Display Port daisy chaining to connect the two monitors and connect to your PC/laptop using USB-C

This does not work with Mac OS

        • Ahh I didn't even think about this. I use BootCamp on my MPB for work. Can confirm it's working under windows

          • @SingletonOfT: I knew daisy chain not work on mac, didn't know due to macOS and didn't know work on Win on bootcamp. Thanks for sharing the info.

  • Ordered one. Thanks.

  • Thanks for this! Just ordered one.

  • Thanks lode. Ordered. Good discount.

Have been looking at the Dell Outlet now and then for a while now. Considered refurbished but will keep this for years like my other Dell monitors and unsure what impact to the lifespan that will have.

    • IMHO a refurbished one will likely be one that somebody sent back with a dead pixel or backlight bleed. They will likely hope that you either won't notice, or will accept it due to the lower price.

  • Received mine. Quality is very good for this monitor.

  • Thanks, just ordered one of these for $790.54. Bargain!

Interestingly enough I also wanted to order the AE515M soundbar but it was more expensive when using these codes, as it's already on sale for 24% off and the code supercedes the sale price. Since the prices include shipping, I just ordered that on seperately with no code. Something to keep your eye on.

    • If no coupon code used then can use with 10% cashback.

  • Ordered one yesterday, delivery shows this Friday.

For those who don't know about their dead pixel policy: "Even if one bright pixel is found, a free monitor exchange is guaranteed during the limited hardware warranty period."
