Original Coupon Deal

I can't confirm this for certain as the product seems relatively 'new' and the reviews are light on detail and only seem to start around April 2020 but this monitor appears to be a 'new' version of the well-known and liked U2719D/U2719DC

Here's a tech spec comparison with the U2719DC:

Connectivity on the U2721DE appears to be quite good (and improved? over the U2719D/DC):
-DisplayPort (HDCP)
-HDMI (HDCP)
-USB-C upstream/DisplayPort (power up to 65W)
-DisplayPort output (MST)
-2 x USB 3.0 downstream with Battery Charging 1.2
-2 x USB 3.0 downstream
-Audio line-out (mini-jack)
-Ethernet (which i'm assuming it passes over USB-C to the connected device like laptop, a nice feature I thought)

Suitable for home office but refresh rate (60Hz) probably not going to suit gamers.

Shopback currently has 10% off on Dell so don't forget to click through from Shopback to bring the total down to $580.

Personally I was looking for q QHD IPS 27" for home office. I started at the U2719DC (which is out of stock at Dell), then I stumbled on good comments here and on other sites about the HP 27n G2 (but the HP lacks USB-C power delivery which I wanted for my laptop). Both of these screens are $630 and $600 cheapest on staticice in NSW. When I found the U2721DE for $580 (after coupons and Shopback) I was happy to buy. I considered something with similar specs but cheaper from the likes of AOC but coming from a U2415 currently I was worried I wouldn't 'like' the AOC.

EDIT: 3:50pm 27/6 - removed Shopback references due to comments in chat; seems like Shopback not possible unless the codes are from the Shopback site. Sorry for the bum steer!

    • yes if you aren't snobbish about lower framerates

This is a good deal but I think I will hold out until there is a 10-14% cashback as well and pull the pin then.

  • Can you see the pixels with 2k at 27" though? Does text look blurry or sharp? I have 4k at 32", i find 2k at 32" awful. but 32" is too much screen to be able to focus up close.

    • A 4K monitor at 32" means you will usually be using 150% scaling, or 125%. Apps and text naturally look sharper here, less pixel-y.

1440p at 27" is usually kept at 100% scaling. So it'll appear less sharp than 4K at 32", but by no means unbearable. It's just the right ratio. 1440p at 32" definitely looks worse. The sweet spot for 1440p is 27".

If you already have 4K at 32", I'd consider this to be a downgrade. You'll notice a decrease in sharpness.

      • I'm used to the 5K iMac now and wondering if I should go for a 4k to most closely resemble that sharpness or if this type of display is much the same.

  • Just bought U2720Q! (Not gaming, need 4K for design)

    Thanks OP!

      it's not 4k, it's 2k

      • He's talking about the other one, U2720Q is 4k HDR

  • I have a $100 Dell Voucher. It does work with this and brings price to $545.19. But I'm not tempted to buy this as I already have a samsung 28 inch QLED 4k screen…

Edit: Purchased one for my family business as I recently purchased the Ryzen 4700u Dell Inspirion 14 7000 which has Type C for work and I didn't realise this monitor has Type C Power and ethernet port! That's exactly what I need. wohoo

    • What scale do you use on SAM 28 4K?
4K on 28 can be small with original scale

      • 150%, biggest regret purchase.

        • No need to regret, 4k is still sharper with scale!

  • U2719DC vs U2721DE?

    • only if U2719DC is available cheaper at the moment?

I can’t believe some people claim Kogan monitors are just as good as Dell Ultrasharp range based on “specification”. That’s on the same line as comparing speakers and headphones based on “specification”.

  • This or S2719DC which has HDR and for a similar price?

  • 4 years ago i paid around $700 for a 4k DELL. prices haven't improved much since then and this isn't even 4k

    • Yes, paid $623 ($779-20%) for a U2718Q (4K) in 2018 from dell ebay.

  • Thanks OP! Bought 2.

  • thanks dude :) cheers

  • If I am just using the monitor for work (mainly Excel), is it worth paying the $200+ extra for this compared to the cheaper Dell P2719HC?

    • Yes, unless you have bad eyesight and need everything to be huge! This one has higher resolution 2560 x 1440 vs 1920 x 1080 on the P2719HC. You can fit more on the screen with this one.

  • Maybe i'm being dumb, but how is it different to this? Except the additional display port? https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-ultrasharp-27-monitor-u…
