Wish Woolworths would sell the larger version. This stuff is quite good.

    • They do? Check the mayo section separate to the Asian section

      • Only the slightly larger 500g variety, was hoping they'd have the 1kg bottle.

Anyone else having trouble loading the woolies catalogue?

    • +2

Yeah it wasn't loading earlier, then it started loading but particular pages broken, now gone back to not loading at all.

      • Same as Coles, they must be using same provider to publish their catalogues.

  • Wtf the wasabi and sriracha flavours don't have MSG, so disappointing smh

Hope you're sarcastic about MSG. If you're not you should do a bit of reading about it…

Personally prefer Praise Whole Egg Mayonnaise, it's not sweetish, it has a classic mayonnaise flavour and high percent of eggs.

Any links? I was under the impression it's pretty harmless and it's mainly Karens.

        • Use it, enjoy it πŸ‘

@drazenm: I do have a nasty habit of only reading the abstracts, but the general consensus from three articles I looked at quickly was along the lines of: "Despite concerns raised by early reports, decades of research have failed to demonstrate a clear and consistent relationship between MSG ingestion and the development of these conditions."

Here Karen, tinfoil head, reptilian etc. Constant need of some proof out there. Do you know how many products, ingredients, procedures, especially medical ones are allowed and not tested enough? They tell us after 20,30,50 years that some research out there in outer space has come to a conclusion how something I is now in this/that way is deadly, causing cancer, tumour etc. Now lol, after how many people are sick, dead, dying.

Don't get me started on Tefal Teflon, but hey Americans say it's ok so it must be πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Enjoy, eat anything and everything, it's all about texture and flavour right? Fcuk ingredients.

@drazenm: That article is full of speculation passed off as research. Rats aren't people, so rats studies only show what happens in rats, not people.

There's not one single proper study that shows there is any negative effects (when compared to normal salt).

Yet as I said above, my missus gets a physical reaction to the stuff.

All i can say is read the label, know your body.

          • +2

@drazenm: If you are scared of MSG, avoid mushrooms, tomato, cheese, vegemite, sushi, soy sauce (any many other foods) as these all contain naturally occurring glutomate.

Meanwhile I will keep adding a pinch of ajinomoto when cooking and enjoying the good stuff.

Actual peer reviewed research suggests it's harmless in the form & quantity used.

There's a good Skeptoid podcast about it and why the hysteria surrounding it

          https://skeptoid.com/episodes/4706

But OTOH my missus' face blows up like a puffer fish when she eats the stuff.

          • @[Deactivated]: Yep, there's no doubt that individuals vary within a group, and that it's smart to be aware of what you react to. Which, as you say, isn't the same thing as declaring that the thing that's bad for you is therefore overall "bad."

  • Really wanna try the yuzu one, seems only at coles?

Last time they had 10 croissant special I haven’t seen one box the whole week in my two local stores

    • Thats because they don't come in boxes, they come in bags.

      • +2

They were showed in a box in the catalogue, never seen bags of croissants in Woolworths ever. But I trust you.

      • I actually seen them today, lowest shelf in the bakery section.

    • Same here, the boxes sold out at the three woollies near me.

They do come in boxes and a bag

      • +2

The ones in the box are twice the size at my local. The half price ones they have this week are tiny and in a plastic bag.

Love me kwuh-saunh and Wasabi Kewpie mayo. Perfect combo.

A classic example of why multiculturalism is great and alive in this country. Hoorah!

    • I hope. All I read today is people that want australian rice only
