          @Trishool: D = digital N = Network video recorders both record the video in the digital format. The only difference is that, NVR as compared to DVR records the videos directly from the network.

            @Jugganautx: Thanks for that. Which one is generally considered better? Im assuming DVR has its advantages of not requiring a network to record, so that if there's a drop out in internet connection then there's no impact?

  Be warned, the Swann Security app is absolutely terrible and is missing a bunch of useful features that the old app used to have. I won't buy Swann cameras again until they fix it and you shouldn't either.

  Most models / generation of SWANN's products use different App / PC software. Once the newer model released, support / update for older model will be dropped.
  If you go to their support website (and app store) you will know what I am talking about. Choosing the right one to download is an art. Some download links point to Dropbox addresses.
