The iPhone SE 2020 under that deal is very good priced no matter which model you choose as long as you do the hard work and take out the 500G $119 plan. The discount turns out between 25% to 30%.
The only thing that gets to me is the phone itself….
No doubt for an iPhone its an excellent deal. Mainly because the phone has a A13 processor in it. Note Apple don't actually want to put this CPU in the iPhone SE 2020. The reason here is logistics. It is cheaper for Apple to keep one CPU in production given that most of user are drawn to their high end product. Everything else of iPhone SE 2020 is so disproportionally low and cheap when you consider it has such a high-end CPU. Yet again Apple has no choice as making anything else better will eat into iPhone 11 sales.
Consider $500 can get you an android phone with SD855, 90hz OLED, Triple cam…

You're mixing two issues (again) - the deal for the phones and how to get the best price for it is one, but wether a person wants to buy, or should buy, that model is another.
$200 gift card is not the same as $200 off of the price
Well, yes there is the fact that you can buy gift cards at 5% off in lots of places, so let's say $190 worth. It's a broad ranging one so almost as useful as cash (everyone needs groceries and fuel).
