Be Quiet! 600w Modular SFX-L PSU 80+ Gold $169 + Delivery @ Umart

840

Well reviewed, and one of the only good examples of well priced SFX PSU's in this covid era.
Good deal for those who have been able to source some sff cases to build in during this time!
Only kicker is the delivery price, however those in Metro Syd & Bris can Click & Collect.
FYI SFX-L are slightly longer, however superior due to having a quieter and larger 120mm fan, perfect if your case can handle them.

I paid $13 delivery to Melbourne.

How are you supposed to fit a 140mm fan in a 130mm shell…?

      • +1

        +1

      • just sit the power supply on top of the case

i am making a joke please no one do this

    • +16

The 140mm fan model is an ATX psu, not an option for those building sff systems.

      • +1

        My bad. Didn’t notice that.

    • Looked up reviews for this: same warranty, less efficient and stable power delivery and a lot louder than the barley audible Be Quiet.

      • +3

Agree its a good brand for other computer components but I believe the silverstone sfx-l 80+gold series to be the better buy at the same or cheaper price anyway.

      • Yeah, I just noticed they had the same warranty, comment got locked halfway through editing :/

They have almost the same efficiency. BeQuiet has a slightly quieter fan curve although they use the exact same fan.

BeQuiet does better at 5V/3.3V ripple while Silverstone does better at inrush current and load regulation.

        The model in question: https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Power-Supplies/Rackmount…

      • What’s the efficiency like for low load >10% ?

My Nas is averaging 50w. Max load is 150w with all drives spinning.

Not a bad price I got a Corsair sf600 recently for 205, I know they have been much cheaper in the past.

I had to rma it too lol, was easy enough though.

    • What went wrong with it?

  • +2

Would rather get the SF600 platinum from amazon for $199 including shipping. Corsair has 7 years‘ warranty

    • Damn thats a good deal, wish you'd stuck it here! I gave up looking for PSU's on Amazon. In any case the Be Quiet is still a good deal, and most importantly for a sff case, its very quiet!

      • Genuinely curious- are other PSUs actually usually audible? I've only ever used a corsair cx450 (ATX) and it runs silent with the system pulling around 250W.

        • +2

I previously used a silverstone ATX PSU in my case, when I transitioned to a sff case it was by far the loudest thing in my case under load. I have a Be Quiet PSU in my HTPC and it's a world of difference.

        • I have an EVGA G2 unit. Has a switch for fan stop mode. With the fans running it’s definitely noticeable. But not an annoying sound imo.
Thankfully mine is overkill so never exceeds load to turn fans on.

          • @Rail Rider95: I also have a G2, but I can't hear it over my case fans.

  • Thanks. Wish they had stock for seasonic focus sfx models. Almost all other sfx psus come with 300mm atx connection which is too short for h210 case. seasonic has 350mm.

  • If only it had more wattage.

    • +2

Well generally speaking, most aren't going to be fitting huge and powerful GPUs in a SFF computer. Not as good cooling for gaming in a SFF computer too. Not saying people haven't done it though.

  • After few years = 500w

    • +2

One reason I avoid 500-550W PSUs. They are cutting it a bit close.

      • Exactly. Always leave a bit of room go for higher wattage

  • +1

I have this one in my VR rig and it's been pretty good so far.

The 500W version is in the the wife's pc running fine.

    Worth a look.

  • I literally got this 3 weeks ago, fuuuuuuuuuu

anyway, yea it does what it has to, quietaf

Never heard of this brand. Can recommend Silverstone SFX PSU though.

    • +7

You've never heard of Be Quiet? How long have you been out of PC building?

    • They are probably PSU far superior than Silverstone

    • +2

Be quiet is a good brand for silent builds.

      • I like to think to it as an affordable Noctua.

        • Also black.

  • +1

FWIW I've bought the following Be Quiet components (from PCCG) and been really, really impressed.
Can't hear my PC now at all.
They're my go-to quiet PC brand now.

    • be quiet! Pure Power 11 500W CM Power Supply
    • be quiet! Shadow Rock Slim CPU Cooler
    • be quiet! Shadow Wings 2 120mm PWM Fan White
  • This or the SF600 platinum for $200?

  • +1

I pre-ordered my sf750 but been told there's a delay until mid October.

Thinking of downgrading to a 600 SFX model like this but get conflicting reports. Looking to overclock custom loop with the upcoming 4700x and 3080ti but also hearing they should be less power hungry than their older models.

Anyone else building for these future parts? If so, would 600 be a tight fit or plenty of wiggle room?

  • Back up to $179.
God these guys took forever to dispatch this, ordered on Friday and was only just dispatched!
