Received this offer via email this morning and was surprised that it hadn't been posted yet - then again, nobody's really travelling these days, so I suppose I've answered my own question?

Boosted Cashback expires 10:59am 07/07/20.

Stay safe people!

    Title should state "excl. [VIC]"

    • This deal includes VIC, but there is a surcharge of $1652

      • +1

If travelling to NSW, the surcharge is $11,000 or 6 months jail.

previously when logging in through cashrewards the prices are higher than just searching booking.com without having the 'benefit' of cashback.

      Yep 100% True.

also depending on length of trip, accom. can be expensive… and nothing worse than a cashback going 'missing'.
I suppose you could cancel trip and re-book if that happened.
That has put me off some of those big % Groupon cashbacks though.

        • It happened to me with shop back. Extremely disappointed in their crappy response. They delayed too long for me to get a refund from Groupon. It was as something like $70 owing to me. Not worth it. Every other cashback from Groupon has tracked perfectly. Only when they were going to have to payout a lot.
Cashrewards is far superior and is charity based. And it has tightarse. 🤗

          • @voteoften: the groupon thing is really annoying, they need to give you the discount at checkout otherwise I am not interested.

      • I know if you use something like booking.com at somewhere like the Park Hyatt you get the worst rooms - a nice brick wall view.

        • Man this situation is disgusting.

These services were started to serve consumers and now 2 companies own all of them and hotels are screwing over consumers using them.

I used them heaps when I traveled a lot last year because I literally don't know the names or reputations of hotels in foreign cities.

  • I try and book direct, particularly now when booking locally and tourism suffering so massively

  • +2

I have tried once before COVID-19 and the price on booking.com is slightly higher than going direct, but booking.com automatically applies a coupon. So even if after cashback the price is supposedly cheaper, the fact that the coupon was applied and not listed in CR deems any transaction with the auto coupon applied invalid. Not sure if this is still relevant now but do look out for this.

Thanks just cancelled a booking and rebooked and made $100.
    Thanks

  • My cashback tracked in about 5 minutes. I love cash rewards.
