iPhone 4S 64GB on Vodafone 12 months plan with 2 months free on access fee's DEAL NOT ON - lack of communication

Hi All,

I just got the iphone 4S 64GB on a 12 months plan with 2 months free through a vodafone rep.
Basically i got the $59 cap plan with iphone handset repayment of $47 (total of $106) reduced to $100/month and also got 2 months free.

If anyone is interested , contact me here and ill pass on ur details to the vodafone rep.

Just letting u guys know that i would also be getting a referal bonus for this which i will split with you 40/60 as soon as i get it on my account. I have good feedback on other forums and ebay if u would like to check me out too.

Cheers

MOD EDIT - unfortunately this deal looks like its dead. Have emailed the poster to ask for at least an update or some communication and that hasn't happened. Everyone should move on. Commenting locked as its no point wasting time. I am sure EC wont be using this forum as a reference for good feedback…

You are in effect saying that you are getting the 64gb iPhone4s that retails without a plan for $999 for a Dollar more (10 months X $100 = $1000)

Is that correct? or have I got it wrong

    • If that's right… I need to get my dad.. DAD I NEED A NEW PHONE!!!

Also links to your positive feedback?

  • Seems like a very sweet deal. What's the referral bonus?

  • yeh im getting it on a 12 months plan with 2 months free

    meaning 100 X 12 = $1200 - $120 = $1080 (and the RRP is $999) LOL

Ive contacted the rep and she cant do the 2 free months anymore … she said i was lucky to get the 2 months free :s

But if i get enough people , i may be able to convince her , so please register your interest and ill email her on monday.

    Only post if ur keen.
The referal bonus is $100 iirc

    • The two months free was the bargain of the deal, otherwise you'd rather just go buy it outright for $999 and get live connected's $15.99 no contract plan. Total is the same, well actually $9.12 cheaper but you'd be on optus' network but no referral bonus which I understand you'd be giving $40 back for.

      • true, but i didnt want to pay $999 in one hit.
And i wanted to use the $750 call credit for international calls too.
And most of the time, you can renew a contract 2 months before its finished and get a new phone

        • Oh? I thought the 12 months contract ones you cannot apply for new phone until the date is strictly up? I always join the 12 months contract but Voda and 3 insisted that I cannot change a handset until my 1 year is up. No other conditions!

        • You cannot upgrade early on 12 months contracts. You have to complete in order to upgrade for free.

  • I am interested , how do i contact you? can u pass on ur details to me about that vodafone rep?

    • lets just see how many expression of interests i can get by monday arvo and if its over 6 people, ill contact her and see what she can do ,

      Ill count you as interested

      • Yes, count me interested (if you get the 2 months free i will most likely also be able to get 2 friends involved too)
        keep me posted…

        • Likewise

  • Yes i'll join the party! Put me in :)

  • OK, whoever is interested , please pm me with ur first name and phone number , and on monday ill call the rep and see what she can do.

    • not sure how to pm you on this (profile says easternculture is not accepting e-mails.), but im interested, if there is 2 months free.

      • Likewise, cannot PM you =(

  • I am in for it for 2 ppl too here in WA (maybe more) if we can get it with 2 months free.

  • ok ive fixed my settings, you can email me now

    • please also put me down for 1

  • If only this could wait until after 2pm Wednesday :(

    • why wed 2pm ???

      • +1

lol after samsung's event he meant :P

      • 2pm here in Sydney is 10am in Hong Kong where Samsung will launch their new phone.

  • Just emailed you, thanks mate

  • Just realised that they do credit checks for phone plans.
What are the chances of an 18 year old with no credit history or job (well one day a week on minimum wage) being approved?

    • Did some digging
Having no credit history is just as bad as having bad credit when it comes to phone plans…..
And cant get a credit history in the foreseeable future… Got 4-5 years of uni ahead of me… Doubt any bank would be crazy enough to give an incomeless persom a cc.

      • A basic credit history is not so hard to establish. Simple things such as having the newspaper delivered, and obviously paying the bill on time lol, can get you started.

    • +1

get your dad kiddo or start working…

      • Yeah getting my dad to put it under his name, although I'm paying for it out of my savings…
Job… If all things go to plan I won't have time for a job whilst at uni, well at least not one with a pay that would be considered favourable for a loan/contract

    • If you're a tertiary student, you're guaranteed approval with a valid student card

      • why?

        • +1

You're guaranteeed one mobile and one broadband connection if you're a uni student. It because 99.9% of the time teriary students don't have a credit history. So to be nice to tertiary students, I've read, that Voda (and probably other telcos) will allow you to have one mobile plan and one mobile broadband connection even if you fail a credit check due to having no credit history.

Only problem is I'm still technically still in high school…

  • I'm in!!!
    sounds like such a bargain,
just curious how many people so far???

  • I got a new phone on one of the Vodafone promotions that offered 10% off the contract price and 3 free months access on a 12 month contract. Be prepared to have a fight with Vodafone in getting your free months added to your contract as I must have spoken to customer service 4 or 5 times before I got my free three months access credited to my account.

Most customer service reps will claim ignorance about any promotion being linked to your account so it's important to keep any promotional material and sign up emails which contain the information regarding whatever bonuses you were promised on sign up.

    • the free months are added as credit on the account
and the phone call is recorded when u go through a rep.

And yes, you can still get the 10% discount if u add another contract on your account, but this will have to be done after you get the phone by calling accounts department , well that's at least what she told me

    • is the 3 month free and 10% off promo still on?

      • dont know about the 3 months one

but the 10% off access fees is when u have an existing account and you add a new service on that account. The coupon code for that is SAVE10

        • For existing account, does 3 network count as Vodafone's network? =)

    • Hey Cobalt — on which handset did you get the 3 months free access on?

      • Hey devpress. I got it on the SGS around 12 months ago using the RAC/NRMA promo. I believe similar deals were also available with the Desire HD. But like I said earlier, getting Vodafone to acknowledge the free 3 months was a real struggle. The 10% off monthly access however worked from the start.

I dont think any amoint of money is worth the anguish of being on the Vodafone network, frankly.

    No deal.

  • i interested it but I don't know how I can send e-mail to you count me in

  • thanks upstair

  • When you say two months free, do you mean two months plan fee or does it include mobile repayment as well? It's the difference between $100 and $200 off, or a total of $1000 or $1100. Also what does it take to unlock the phone from Vodaphone? Otherwise sounds good.

  • I think it's two months access fee $59*2=$118? and we will get the $40 for commision? the cost down to $1000-$118-$40=$842?

    • +3

59 cap plan with $47 handset repayments ($106) reduced to $100 OR
$45 infinite plan with $57 handset repayments ($102) reduced to $100.
      12 month contract
      2 months access fee for free (either $59 X 2 OR $45 X 2)
$40 of the commission fee for you

so basically in my case $1200 - the 2 months access fee - the $40 commission = what it will cost you
so $59 cap plan will end up costing you $1042 over 12 months
and the $45 infinite plan will end up costing you $1070 over 12 months
and the RRP of the iphone 4S 64GB is $999 so this way, its better to buy it on a plan rather than pay $999 in one hit.

And this is conditional that the rep will agree to offering this once again, which i will get back to you on monday or tuesday

      Cheers

      • Awesome, keep us posted =)
        Cheers for the 2 options!

  • is this iphone4s unlocked?

    • Yes, but Vodafone allows free unlocking of handsets if they're on a contract.

  • +1

mate, I am in as well

  • Hi. Can I get the 16GB one for 24 month and still get 10% disc and 3 mths access fee? I just don't wanna pay for the repayment. Ta.

  • any up0date?

  • put me down as interested :)

  • no response yet

  • ill let you guys know when i get a response , hopefully by tomorrow arvo

    • Waiting For Update!

    • I am interested in and PM u already. Please update once anything available.

  • I'm definitely down. I'll take two!

  • I'm keen!

  • i will consider this too. so is this the cheapest 12 months contract to get iphone 4s ?
can you confirm will you still get referral bonus if im already with voda?

  • Great. Keep us posting, mate.

  • +2

    any word yet easternculture?
myslef and 2 other family members are keen for an update :)

  • im guessing this kind of fell through :(

  • +1

It would be great for eastern culture to update us so we know where we stand!

  • +1

easternculture when will you tell us if you have been successful with getting us this deal? i would like to know if i need to start looking for another iphone deal.

  • My contract ends today ^^
Would be awesome to hear back in the next few days before I pick up other phone contracts!
    Cheers mate!

    • you should ask your provider to upgrade 2-3 months before you contract finish so you can save some $

      • thanks for the advice erwinsie :)
but mine is on a 12 month contract with 3, so they said they can't do anything until my contract is up! Been using the 12 month contract for ages, always 1 year at a time. So it is quite a hassle to update every year. It saves me the lock down thou =P

        • +1

hmm my gf with voda got 12months contract but 2 months before ends she got sms from voda saying she can upgrade to iphone 4s.

        • You serious!
Dammit, how come 3 doesn't offer such service. Should I call them up to see what loyalty plans they have in store for me?

        • +1

yeah, maybe 1-2 months before contract expiry, no harm to try call them and "threatening" you will leave if they cant give upgrade now. just say you have lost the phone, you need new phone asap not in 2 months, so either they give you new phone with new contract now or you go to different provider, means in 2 months you will not with them anymore… hehehehehe. but now 3 becomes voda, rit?

        • Ohhh that's sneaky! But I like the idea! Thanks Erwinsie =)
Will take those advice to heart~ cheers

        • no prob. happy to help a (cute) Chocobo

Seems you are back to the forum today! why not you give us some update? Even if don't have the deal anymore!!

  • +1

think it's evident enough that you guys should forget about this deal

    • true… the hope is diminishing… however 1 week is not up yet, so still keeping my fingers crossed!

  • +2

C'mon easternculture. Just let us know what's happening so we can move on.

  • Wonder how many people have expressed interest. Has it hit 20 people yet? Cause that's a lot of bargaining power if there's 20 contracts on offer in one hit!

    • EC Might have got sucked in by an over enthusiastic saleslady, who probably found out that she cant do the deal. It was pretty good if it came off. Oh well, I guess I can just save the money and stay with what i have already….

  • -2

this is very similar with that free modem from voda plus $80 credit deal.
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/52988

    • i don't see how this is similar at all

  • easternculture at least tell us if you can't get the deal so we know where we stand

  • +2

eastern culture you are a dud. It's very poor form that you don't have the courtesy to get back to us and keep us in the loop!!!!!
