How is this profitable for dan murphy's?
The excise on this would be $22.24033, so Dan's would be selling this at or below cost price.
At $86.90 per litre of alcohol there's $22.51 in alcohol excise and $2.36 in GST for a grand total of $24.87 in taxes. Pay using eWish gift cards and getting cashback you're actually paying less than the total tax amount at the end of the day.
Don't forget cashback :) 3.50% at cash rewards

Personally I love this with sprite, works really well for some reason.
Canadian whisky is a huge thing, you'll see Crown Royal and CC here but they have many more whisky makers than we do in Australia thanks to prohibition (couldn't be made in the US, so it was made in Canada and quietly shipped over). Wisers, Lot 40 and Forty Creek are fantastic, Alberta Premium is so very, very good for the price (when I lived there they were doing a 30 year old release for $50CAD a bottle. I bought a case at the time, drank them far too quickly).
Worth an explore if you're looking for something new. Tends to be a lot smoother than US bourbons so makes for some easy drinking.
