How big is a 5000 Litre Slimline Water Tank?
Although there are many different variations in size, most 5000LT slimline water tanks are around 3m long and 1 meter wide. The height is usually around the 2.1 meter mark. The problem with going either too narrow is is blows the length out to four or five meters. This not only makes them impracticable to fit on site, but also is a manufacturing issue as most ovens where 5000L slimline water tanks are made are not big enough to accomodate. The Rotoplus S-Line 5000LT slimline tank is 2900L x 1000W x 2100H and comes in over 20 different colours. It comes with two outlets on each end for ease of installatin.

How heavy is a 5000L slimline Water Tank?
Most 5000LT slimline tanks weigh between 180kg and 200kg. Although the weight of the tank is important to determine the wall thickness of the tank, it is more important to know what the wall thickness is of the 5000 litre tank in particular areas. This is done by using ultrasonic detectors to determine the wall thickness. As part of the Australian Standards, all our tanks are tested to make sure they have the correct wall thickness as required by Standards Australia. When you buy a 5000LT slimline water tank from ASC Water Tanks, you can buy with confidence.

This equates to about 11.11% off the original price of the tank. I dunno about "slashed". More like "whittled".

  • Is this still available!?

    • Yes it is

  • What is a better pump- dab divertron or reefe submersible?

    • Hi. Which Reefe are you looking at? DAB are one of the best pump manufacturers in the world. They were bought out by Grundfos, and the DAB Divertron 1200 is one of the most popular submersible pumps we have. The DAB Divertron also includes a built in pressure controller, which most Reefe don't. What is your application?

      • the RPS036F submersible. will be running 2 toilets/ laundry and a couple of garden taps

        • This pump is fairly identical to our ASC MK6-UTRON1000 https://asctanks.com.au/product/asc-mk6-utron1000-submersibl….

They are not designed to run garden taps however as the mains water is limited to 200kPa. I would recommend the Bianco RS4e-Divertron1200. The units are $750 and non mains limiting. https://asctanks.com.au/product/dab-rs4e-divertron1200-multi….

          • @asc water tanks: The DAB has a higher flow rate and higher pressure. It is also about half the height which means you get to use more water in your tank.

          • @asc water tanks: thank you. is the Bianco Rainsaver in the package the same as the 1 inch Aquasaver?

I've seen many variations of the Divertron 1200- made by dab/ claytech c7 etc - are they all the same pump?

            • @derdew: The Claytech pumps are a re-badged DAB and we can get you the Claytech as well. The Aquasavers are good, however when the tank runs empty, the pump will cycle as it searches for water. I prefer the MK4e as it has a float and cuts power to the pump when the tank is empty and switches to mains water supply. We can supply the 1" Aquasaver. They are $350.

              • @asc water tanks: I've had a bad run of experiences with the Davey rainbank,so would rather avoid any electronic tank to mains switches. thanks again

                • @derdew: Sure. I understand. If it is any consolation, the RS4e does come with a 2 year in field warranty when purchased with an approved pump.(DAB Divertron included)

              • @asc water tanks: Hi there, can you elaborate on the disadvantages of having the pump cycle when the tank runs empty? Is this really bad for the pump in terms of wear & tear or is it just a nuisance in terms of cycling noise?

I am looking for a submersible system to replace an old Davey Rainbank KRB1 with HP45-05, mainly want to eliminate the noise as my pump is located right next to a bedroom. It supplies two toilets at the moment.

  • if there's recycled water (not metered, separate pipe) , do people still install these?

    • You don't need to. The recycled water is normally billed through your rates. It's probably not needed to put in a water tank, especially if it is unmetered, which means you can use as much or as little water and not pay for it.
