    No deal.
This is pretty much regular price.

    • +2

Where else does it cost $499?

    • +4

Yet the next cheapest price (on PriceHipster) is $696 at TGG. Something that is cheaper than it is available anywhere else is generally defined as a deal.

Plenty of recurring deals get posted on here.

Where is the v50 dual screen deal 😭😭😭

    • Think they are all gone now?

    • Discontinued in Australia?

  • +2

Bought this from the last JB deal since i dropped my phone, came from a fat Samsug A70, performance is good, finger print sensor works a lot better. Battery life is noticeably dismal in comparison

    • make sure you remove permissions for running in the background for the apps you don't need running in the background. When I stopped and done this job, it improved battery life immensely.
Other than that, using the low battery mode (not extreme) drops the consumption drastically.

Screen flickers with PWM dimming, pass.

    • Honest question, don't all OLED's use PWM?

      • +1

Many do, there are some workarounds by Huawei and Xiaomi with DC Dimming.
Further to that, in my experience there are some phones where the modulation is less intrusive such as the LG v30, whatever they do has been a blessing from 40-100%.
You can also try using the OLED Saver app, which removes the strobing in software.

The PWM on the G8S was particularly intrusive

      • VeganLeather,
Thanks for your excellent comment in the previous deal forewarning of this, and weighing up the pros and cons. Manufacturers are really missing the point when they compromise on the display, rendering it visually uncomfortable to view due to the flickering.

        • No probs.

Also, any news on Android 10 for this model?

    • all indicators point to no Android 10

      • where did you get that? All info I find mentions Q3

  • Sold out? The link does not work

  • Where can I buy dual Sim variation of this phone at the same price point?

    • +1

Try doing a price match at good guys (if they still carry them)

      • Thanks Koffee. I'll try, but not sure anyone willing to price match sold out item.

Excellent alternative to Chinese owned and manufactured phones.

It seems like JB have removed the link

    • I will see if they have posted it to a different URL
