    Not overpriced at all.

Pink duck masks… I know that masks are a medical device not a fashion statement, but come on.

Also is this actually a deal, or just OzAdvertising?

    • +20

Sir, this is a fine deal.

      $0.23 Off RRP

  • Are these single use?

    • Yes

      • +2

Thanks. That seems exy for a single use.

  • Look like a duck or macaque for $5.49 only!

    • if you put a double C on top or corner of it you might get it as $549 without being a n95 mask !

  • Only if you don’t mind look like a duck,

    • you mean Donald……?

  • Look like granny's underwear …

    • +3

… sounds like you have a very close family there. Even still, probably better sticking with the mask, rather than, you know, your grandmother's passion killers.

  • Anything over $1-1.50 for single use is a rip. Especially when you can get reusable, washable, Australian made masks now for as common as $10 ea.

Can you please share the link?

      • Single use you can find TGA approved at Chemist Warehouse or Bulk Buys (Australian Made) for $60 for 50

If you're after a simple cloth mask (either moulded or the folded design) Etsy has dozens in Australia under $10. Businesses like Ark Clothing do 5 for $50.

They don't need to be P2 to do the job.

        • +1

Please pardon my ignorance as I have never used Etsy, it is sort of like eBay, 50% scammers 50% legitimate sellers, buyers are protected by using secure payment methods etc?

          • +3

@Banana: Its generally stay at home, small business types. Etsy, visa, PayPal are the payment gateways so scamming is rare. Not to say it doesn't happen but its no Gumtree and I certainly find it more transparent than ebay (reviews and feedback are more honest)

            Ark clothing are here https://theark.com.au/collections/personal-masks

Oh good we are still doing pandemic advertising for overpriced items. Just so you have an idea the company I work for pay 0.40c for these.

    • I don't think there's anyway the company you work for pays that price for Proshield N-95 Masks - check anyway but there are a variety of Proshield Masks - N-95 are the most expensive. These are used in hospitals and I doubt even the Australia govt is paying the price you're quoting your company pays for these

      • I work for a healthcare provider and I can assure you we pay equal to 40c per mask. These masks weren't even available individually in Australia until current times.

Also, N95 or P2 masks are complete overkill for the general public. As I stated I work for a healthcare provider and our policy is a surgical mask as Covid-19 is not airborne and thus does not need the level of a P2 mask.

        • I know for a fact that these have been sold individually for years. This item is not pricejacked or anything and you can clearly see that on PriceHipster: https://pricehipster.com/product/P8pLqNn7z3alNWqKHI2UEA~S6K2… - I can assure you most pharmacies would be paying easily at least 10x the price your company is paying for these

I agree that these masks are not necessary for the general population for Covid-19 and that this is not a deal but there's a reason why this item is priced at what it is and they're not the same as cheap surgical masks
