    ahhh, that's not very cheap

    • +6 votes

      That’s the cheapest available though.

Cheapest available doesn’t make it a bargain!

    •

Don't know about other retailers but that is the cheapest on Amazon since January

There has been apparently a shortage of PS4 consoles

      •

        And it’s still the cheapest.

Will let you know when it's $148

these were $250 or less last year. Just shows those how many retailers are making extra margin off high demand. pretty much all of them

Was as low as $223.99 one day for black friday with Fortnight bundle. 1T Pro was also $349

$349 is a good deal, and best price on Amazon for over 6 months obviously due to shortages

With 20% cashback and gift card. Easily make it sub 300. I didn't pull the trigger due to waiting for switch pro. However, the wait is longer than expected.

@ce5himm: "Please note that we have no plans to launch a new Nintendo Switch model during 2020."

            Nintendo Japan financial statement

Think you'll be waiting a while for anything, and that's before factoring in corona shit

And a Switch was $315 back in July 2018 with amazon prime day and $349 with Mario Kart 8 last Black Friday but now is $448. They must be making a lot of money then!!

Meanwhile the PS5 is around the corner… Not sure who would buy a PS4 500GB for $350.

    •

True but this shows that the prices are finally dropping from the ridiculousness that was this year

    •

      Lot of people will.

    Not even a pro? Wow

Need one with lower than 6.72 firmware

Good price. Just sold mine, 3.5 years old, for $370 two days ago.

You sold a used 3.5 year old PS4 for $370?? Not sure if that is regular for these times but that's impressive.

      •

Quick glance at recently sold eBay sales shows prices $370-400 average for second hand 500gb consoles

    •

where'd you sell it for that? I'm tempted to sell my PS4 Pro. Only a few months old and probably used it twice.. did a 1TB Samsung SSD upgrade when I first got it too, so the stock hard drive has seen very little use.

  •

I can't help but notice that the PS4 is still quite expensive to buy considering the PS5 is not that far off from being unleashed to the expecting public.

    Why is that?

    •

Imagine it is due to shortages due to lockdown. And some highly anticipated exclusives such as The Last of Us Part II (highest selling game on PS4 in only 3 days) and Ghost of Tsushima

I sold my Xbox One S for $220 a few weeks ago.
I think I paid $199 a few years back from a deal posted here.

The lady who bought it was buying it for her son (birthday) while he was home-bound.

The used market is absolutely crazy right now.

      •

Probably because it's hard to buy it new at retailers these days.

wow… i can't imagine that after nearly 4 yrs ps4 slim released still selling for this much….

wondering if a 2nd white ps4 slim with 2 controller will worth how much these days….

to bad its pretty shit for new games. Pro at the min unless you love fps drops.

    •

Agreed - trying to explain to my mate why he was hardstuck in Sekiro (and I couldn't help) after finishing the game on PC, led to many bertstares on his part while I tried to explain that the ps4 is not really up to stable framerates in modern AAA games. We almost got into "30fps is all the eye can see" territory. Saved the friendship, barely.

  •

    How is this still $349?!!

  •

The pros are selling out real fast, don't even last a week in Amazon, 5 days since stock came in and today they're sold out!

eBay has them for ~$650, with ~11% going to eBay & minus postage ~$18.50+, the flipping margin is horrible and that's without insurance and good packaging.

Using an Amazon box and bubble packaging pushes it to ~$40-$50 shipped with insurance (66x41x20cm costs $46.55 @5kg), the margin is horrible vs risk?

    Where are they going!

  •

Could anyone please confirm if this is the same console?
