Was looking for a laptop stand to help set up my home office and found this Kmart stocked one. $10 price was better than Officeworks etc offerings.
Note: don’t believe the online stock check facility as it stated my local store (Mt Ommaney, Qld) only had 1 in stock, however there were 10+ when I went in yesterday.

9 levels of tilt for comfortable viewing.

Isn’t it normally $10 though? I bought it for that price a few months ago in white. Now it’s the same product in black.

Yeah I wouldn't pay more than that for this piece of plastic.

  • I bought one for $10 for Covid work from home day. It was white though.

  • Does it help cool the laptop?

    • Just passive cooling as it allows airflow underneath the laptop unlike other stands which may include an inbuilt fan.

    • You could always place a USB-powered fan behind it. I use one of these from Muji to cool a PC while I'm playing this one particular game which sends my GPU temps to the max 100% of the time.

I'm able to drop the temperature by 4 degrees and stop it from thermal throttling. It's a cheap temporary fix until I resolve my PC airflow issues. I had the fan lying around anyway.

  • What is it made of? Plastic or metal?

Maybe not a deal as such - but for WFH and the crazy prices you can pay for some, I think it's absolutely worth the $10. I use this (in white) and also the Anko monitor stand (with the two front USB ports), which was about $22 from memory - it's holding my 30" Apple Cinema monitor, which was some weight to it. Can't fault either so far - if they break after a year or two, I wouldn't be mad…(unless it broke my laptop or monitor, but so far so good…)

    • Agreed . It’s a good product and cheaper than others but technically everything at Kmart would be a deal/bargain with that logic.

  • I just bought an aluminum stand, and now I see this. Well, the one I bought folds down nicely to tuck in the bag, so there's that.

  • Being plastic I wonder how sturdy it is. Like does it wobble much during gaming for example.
