  • nada, targeted

  • +3

    0 for 5 :S

    Pray to the forumninja gods

  • Targeted. It only showed up on a card that either has never been used for Amazon, or very minimally/been quite a while before spending with Amazon.

  • Just saved to both Amex cards (linked/supplementary)
    thanks!!

Yeah neither is my linked amazon card, i only use this one for ATO payments and subscribing to prime with the cash-back offer from previous years. didn't have it this year :(

    • Curious - why ATO payments ?
Does Amex allow points earn on ATO transactions ?

      • +1

At either full rate or a reduced rate yes, provided you're willing to cough up the 2.45% surcharge on top as well

        • yep, its 0.5 now i think maybe less (not as good as it used to be but my citi visa its a big fat 0) and yes there is a surcharge, which i think is tax deductible?

          • +2

@cam83: Even if it's tax-deductible, the earnings rate is so low, there is no way you are getting ahead.

            Let's say tax bill is $10,000 + 2.45% = $10,245.

At 0.5 earnings rate, that's 5,122 points (worth perhaps $52)

Even if you can deduct $245 at the top marginal tax rate (45%+2% medicare levy) you are saving $115.15.

            So it's $52 worth of points for $129.85 ($245 - $115.15).

            Not worth it.

  • nope, not on any of my cards.

You rarely make simple comments like this, but few people seem to simply love to neg them :)

  • +1

    Nope, nothing here either. :(

  • +2

Got the other ones I won't use but not this one

  • In the Nothing Here camp as well

Excludes Amazon Australia digital purchases (including, but not limited to, eBooks and Apps).

Amex offers tab in app is giving me an error grr

    • +1

Yep, can’t even access mine on desktop. Was trying to find a manual link to help out.

      • Relax, should be back with offers in next few mins. happened to me as well

      • Yes please.

    • Yup, stupid amex.offers tab

  • Bonus for me then as I got it. Off to find something now

  • nope, which card are most people getting it on?

    • +3

      Essential for me.

  • +1

booo they must know i shop on amazon regardless of promotions … lol

  • +2

    0/15 cards have it…

    • -1

Why would you need 15 cards

      • +4

Just 3 main cards, the rest are supplementary. and it’s for making full use of offers like shop small etc

        • It's one offer per card not per account? I didn't know that!!

          • +1

@nfr: Please hand over your ozb membership.

          • @nfr: This is why people get as many subs as they can.

      • +9

Why would you need 15 cards

There is a difference between need and want

      • It’s a status thing.

  • +1

Available on my primary Plat Edge card, friend's personal Plat Charge card does not.

It appears my plat edge supps received the offer, but the Amex offers tab appears to be broken, keeps going to 0 available, 0 saved..

Can other members list their amex card type?

Maybe we can figure out if its card specific.

  • Not on mine but TX for the heads up

  • +1

Nothing-burger for me on all of my Amex cards.

    <Angrily shakes fist at Amex>

  • Not available on all 4 of my velocity plat.

  • Not ANY offers for any store on my Amex. I've never seen "0 offers available" before. Have they given up on me?

    • Happened to me for over 6 months. Contacting amex was no helped. It suddenly fixed itself last month.

Pretty sure I read the same happened to a few other ozbargainers

      • It was a momentary glitch, no more than a day

  • Not for me either. Must be for limited users of using amex to pay amazon maybe?

  • If you don't buy anything using your Amex card on Amazon for sometime, you'll get this offer.

    • I have never used amex on amazon but i still dont have this 😣

  • Not available in my Platinum edge card

What's with all the shoe deals? I've got New Balance, Hype DC, Platypus, Vans, Merrell, Dr Martens….

    No Amazon!

    • Amex thinks Australians need more shoes ?

  • done see it on escape card

  • No offer on any of my cards.

  • Got it on my free velocity Escape, but not on by free Qantas Discovery.

  • My prime subscription doesn't end til end of October. Anyone know whether I can resubscribe for another year early?

    • Prime subscription is probably a separate merchant as there have been deals for that specifically?

      • -1

No it's not. I got an AMEX cashback when I subscribed last year.

        • It's definitely a different merchant now. Comes up Amazon Prime for one and just Amazon for the other.

    • +1

Excludes payments for Amazon Prime Australia membership
Paying for Prime membership is excluded anyway

      • It worked last year though.

      • Bummer. Yeah it definitely worked last year. Looks like they have changed it :(

  • Nice! I got it on my Velocity Escape.

  • +1

Just buy $40 gift card you will get $15 back to your credit card

    • Please let us know if you have successully redeemed this offer by purchasing a giftcard.

  • only 5 cards have this offer on.other cards don't have this offer.

    • Be happy. I did not get it on any of my 10 even through 9 of them have never been used on amazon.

  • That's a really good offer - is there an AMEX surcharge on purchasing via Amazon?

  • Got it on my Velocity Escape card but not on Qantas Discovery

  • -2

    targeted……..

  • Thanks OP, got it on all my Plat Edge cards. Took up Amex Prime offer last September but subsequent spends were on my other cards. Maybe that's how is targeted… :)

  • O offers and has been like that for years for me

Rang amex several time, always agree it doesn't seem right and say they will investigate. Never hear back

    • Bugger.
It's an Amex direct card and not via a bank like ComBank ?

I only use my Amex for offers like this - so in your shoes I'd apply for a new card (with some promo deal) and and then cancel the old.

      • +1

No one has a CBA Amex card as they closed them all in I think end of October 2018. Only bank offering Amex cards is Westpac, but it's all Amex controlled and Westpac just slaps their name and logo on the card.

  • +7

just tested this on amazon giftcard, got the Amex confirmation email.

  • Nothing on my Amex Platinum edge.

  • In a single order/transaction i purchased something that is $39.99 and something else that is $5. One sold by "H.T store', one sold by "Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd".

My amex was charged individually for both amount. Got the email confirmation that i have used the offer, but from amex's side, looks like 2 transactions under the $40 minimum?

Update: My bad it says one OR MORE transactions, I assumed in one.
