Myer Nintendo Wii Console in Black with Wii Sports for $99 (Sydney CBD)

1060

My boyfriend got this from Myer Sydney CBD today for $99 and it doesn't seem to be in the catalogue.
Its the standard black one with Wii Sports.

I'm not sure how long it goes for and not sure if it is nation-wide but they did have a few left so I guess it is worth a try.

    omfg depreciation hurts…

    • Myer are ceasing selling games, I don't think this discount is due to the actual console losing value.
Their other sales match similar discounts, even greater ones.

  • very good deal if this is real.

  • +2

Not to spoil the bargain buzz, but once you take into account the cost of Mario kart, it's no better than the other deals, unless you need a replacement

    • +4

      Or don't want Mario Kart…

      • +21

        Who wouldn't want Mario Kart?

    • Also, if it's a pack with Wii Sports, it likely comes with an older controller that doesn't have Wiimote Plus. Means you won't be able to play the new Zelda game when it comes out.

      • He asked the lady who sold it to him and she said it is the new wiimote and I'm giving it away as a gift so won't know till they open it…

        • Well that's interesting. I thought the Wiimote plus only came with Sports Resort.

          Anyway, good bargain.

      • NO, I can confirm that it is a Wiimote Plus. I bought Wii Console package with wii sports about 8 mths ago.

      • Got same package from COTD crashathon about a year ago (?) and it came with the new controller.

    • I already have Mario Kart & the wheel, this is perfect for me.

but why if you don't have a console already…

    • If you did want Mario Kart, you'd be better off with the big w deal this week http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/55246

  • what firmware?

    • +1

      it should be Version 4.3e

  • its somewhat nationwide. its also the case in ADELAIDE Rundle Mall Myer. i took a photo to post…but i have yet to, so take my word in the mean time. Thats all that was good in their games dept. most games that had 50% off was from their original, sometimes RRP$109 price tag.

I can confirm that for Brisbane City Myer.
Saw it on my lunch break.

Although I believe they are all sold out of the Wii's

  • Are these still softmoddable?

Edit: They most likely come with 4.3e - which is softmoddable.

    • +2

soft modding mine was the best thing I've done for it.
Rip all my game discs to a harddrive, no more scratched discs when those little kids play it.

      • Agreed. Well I had one of these back when the new mario came out. Ended up selling it for whatever reason and I've always wanted to get one again. There are so many great homebrew apps available on the wii, totally worth the $99

  • Sold out in Sydney CBD

I've been waiting for someone to confirm since this shortly after this deal was posted.

      Anyone?

  • Thanks OP for the heads up, I managed to grab one of these yesterday, BARGAIN!

  • Wii sold out on the Gold Coast. If anyone wants to get rid of theirs contact me :)

    • +1

Musti, second hand Wii's normally go for 99 at eb.

      • Good point. I found a few on gumtree for $120 already softmodded and all.

  • Myer in carousel,WA will not honour it, the oldish salesman tried to spin some yarn about how "the other" myer has their codes wrong, so all myers except Perth carousel are WRONG. /end sarcasm

  • So is there a sale on other games too? I mean PS3 and all that.

    Ok so here it is:
Sydney Stores are all sold out. Penrith to Campbelltown to Ryde to Castle Hill to Warringah to Parramatta. I am having rejection nightmares…

BUT there is hope for us ozbarginers.
EBGames will price match reluctantly… I called a myer store nearby that is out of stock, told them that I've called all around, and no-one has it, will they tell EB when they call that they still have stock so I can get one please.

Myer have 50% off all game stock as they are clearing them out.

    Proof: http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i310/StrickenAza34/4232e45…
Myer Parramatta (Gerald in Home Entertainment) confirmed when EB called.

    But SHHHHH! ;)
    Happy Shopping!

  • Went to CBD store in Sydney no luck, Tried Parramatta and Blacktown in Western Sydney no luck… on the plus though I did see $99 Wii consoles (just the console) going for that price at GAME if anyone missed out here, I will have to double check that price at game though and what is included in their deal. Well at least I got a few half price games.
