  • Thanks! Surprised I actually got it on my Amex Qantas Ultimate! Was only on the primary card. Free points practically as my monthly bill is usually over $500 anyway!

  • Got it on my Ultimate, but not on my wife's Discovery, and not on the supplementary cards for either of those accounts, but that's to be expected since the T&Cs of the offer say "Additional Cards are not eligible for this offer."

  • Thanks OP!
Got it on my Qantas Ultimate card,

  • Ooops - I missed this posting and accidentally published it as well - apologies - I've now "Unpublished" it. Definitely targeted, I got it, my partner didn't.

  • Didn't get it on my co-branded Westpac Altitude Amex.

  • any one got this on discovery?

  • Great deal; normally opening a supplementary card and spending $500 would only net you 5000 points. Checked my Velocity cards, but no such equivalent haha

  • +1. Got it on my QF Ultimate.

  • Thx mate got it on qf ultimate

  • Good one. No luck for me though

  • 10,000 x .007 = ~$70 freebie

    • I thought it worths $0.01/pt?
Basically depends on how you spend the points thought
I normally only spend my QF points with classic rewards flights or seat upgrades

      • can be as high as $0.05 - $0.07 per point in some cases (got over 7 cents a point value with first class flights last year).

        • Only worth that value if you'd have paid the full cash fare otherwise (but still, nice redemption!)

          • @jasonb: true, I guess by that measure they are worth $0.04-0.05 to me as anything less than that I would not sell them. Can't really value them based on what I would pay in cash, only what I would accept to sell them as I also would not pay cash for business class upgrades domestic or international but that is what I generally use them for, that is usually a cash value of around $0.05 a point.

            • @gromit: Fair. I figure out what I would be happy to pay. So I might not pay the cash price for international business, but I'd be happy to pay what fully flex economy costs (usually about double discount economy) so figure it on that basis.

I get around $0.02 for a QF point with that method. I won't go out of my way to pay to acquire them for anything more than half that though.

I recently dumped my Amex point balance for statement credits with the double value promo, effectively "selling" frequent flyer points in QF or other programs at 2c each, it that gives any idea.

  • Cheers OP! Got it on the ultimate card.

  • QF ultimate here - I just loaded it up the first time and saw a link to the Qantas store for "13pts per $1 spent". Clicked the button, went back and logged in and the offer was then available!

  • Same as others, got in my QF Ultimate card
spend $500 or more, in one or more transactions, at any American Express accepting merchants by 27/10/2020
This condition is really easy to achieve as its one or more transactions and any merchants that accept AMEX in 3 months time

Basically a free 10000 QFF points!

    • Just to clarify we need a $500 transaction or more to qualify is that correct? it can't just be multiple transactions that add up to $500?

"Payments of $500 or more must be charged to your Card by 27/10/2020 to be eligible for the offer. If a business does not charge your Card by this date (e.g. due to a delay in dispatching your goods), you may not be eligible for the offer."

  • Just received the email and accepted, thanks OP

  • Does anyone know how the timing on this works?

For example, I know the normal offers (Spend $100, get $10 back) seems to get credited almost instantly (or at least within a couple of days). However, does the same apply to QFF points?

I'm coming up to my annual renewal in a couple of weeks. Spending $500 in that time is somewhat possible, but I don't know if I'll void my points if I then cancel the card?

    • For those welcome points (eg. Spend $2000 in first 3 months to get 80000 points)
You only get the points by the end of 3 months
even you have spend $2000 the first day after you get your card activated

I believe this offer might be the same
Unless they are keep tracking on the total spend on every transaction since you "save this offer"
However, even so you will need at least one month bill cycle to receive the points
Unlike cashback, QF points are only transferred after the statement is established in the last bill cycle I believe

    • Is there anywhere selling Wish e-Gift Cards with 5% off that accept AmEx as a form of payment?

  • Awesome offer.

  • My card is expiring in a couple of weeks. I can't see any restrictions on buying gift cards. So I think I can just get a $500 Woolworths gift card and knock it off. Let me know if I'm wrong…

      • Points should appear on your billing statement within 5 business days from qualifying spend but may take up to 90 days from offer end date.
      • Points will not be applied to your Card Account if your Card has been suspended or cancelled.

      So it's a maybe I think.

  • Got it on my Ultimate. Judging from other comments, may be just for Ultimate card holders?

    • I think it make sense that this offer will only appear in AMEX QF card (as its rewarding QFF points)
But will need to confirm those who hold the AMEX QF Discovery (free annual fee) also has the offer

BTW, I only get this offer in my AMEX primary card
the additional card didn't get this offer
anyone also has the same situation?

(tho I am already satisfied with the 10000 nearly free points!)

  • Amex Ultimate - received offer
Amex Edge - did not receive offer

  • Thanks for the heads up OP. Probably would have missed this email. and got it on the Ultimate card.

  • Thanks, this showed up on my Qantas Ultimate, might have missed it had it not been for this as I didn't get any notification email or anything. basically a free 10k for doing normal monthly shopping.

  • this was a great surprise! I got this on my Ultimate card too :)

  • Nothing on Discovery

  • Start of the Qantas FF devaluation? Step 1. Sprinkle points out there …

  • Got it on my primary Qantas Ultimate AMEX.

  • No dice for my Amex qantas business rewards

  • Got it on QF Ultimate

  • My enrolment confirmation says that I will get a $10000 credit. Typo?

  • Got it. I don't have anything to spend it on lol. Better contact my parents.

  • Thanks, also got this. After the monthly bills come out, it's well over $500 per month so this is essentially "free"

  • Also got it on my QANTAS ultimate, time to put some bills on that shit

  • not on amex branded platinum cards that i can see

  • Not an amex plat charge for me unfortunately. Shame :(

  • I have an Amex Ultimate card, but didn't get the offer. Just checked my account, and it is not in the offers. Maybe only for BIG spenders.

  • A blessing for the spender, a "Dyson" for the saver thanks anyway op good work…

  • No luck on my discovery card, both now and when deal was first posted

  • Nothing on my westpac one linked to QFF, big regrets about signing up for a Velocity Amex at the start of this year :(

  • Yep, on my ultimate card. I misunderstood the offer as to requiring $500 spend in one transaction but just received the offer redemption email so that confirms that multiple smaller transactions are ok. Very easy to achieve over the offer period.

  • I think it needs to be $500 in a single transaction. It can't be $500 spread out over many, based on the terms and conditions.
I had spent $500 over many transactions, and didn't get anything, but the moment I paid for car insurance, I received the confirmation.

Either its a good deal if you can redeem it.

    • Good to know!

    • Save the offer to your eligible Card and spend $500 or more, in one or more transactions, at any American Express accepting merchants by 27/10/2020 to receive 10,000 Qantas Points. Limited to the first 19,000 Cards to save the offer

So no need to be in a single transaction.

      • i just upgraded my discovery card to the ulitame but dont have the offer. i wonder if it worth calling up? maybe the terms means spend $500 or more, in one or more transactions, at same merchant?

        • I just did. Confirmed with them that the requirement is to spend $500 or more in 1 or multiple transactions with 1 or various merchants. Please note they start the calculation from and inclusive of 28th Jul.

AMEX have one of the best customer service. They even acknowledged that I live in VIC and asked me to stay safe.

  • Got the following confirmation, can confirm I haven't spent $500 or more at 1 single merchant, so pretty sure it's across 1 or multiple merchants.

Spend $500, get 10,000 Qantas Points
Thank you for using your Bonus Qantas Points Amex Offer with your Card ending in 21002.

If your transaction meets the offer terms, your redemption should appear on your statement within 5 business days (however it can take up to 90 days from the offer end date).
