  • Wow that QLED seems cheap for a 65er

  • Q70T back in stock after discussed here

  • Samsung 65Q70T or Hisense 65Q8?

    • Also want to know this

      • For me, Samsung. Hisense doesn’t support Plex any more and I think the Samsung has a better os.

        • I've got Plex working on my 55r7, is it just for the newer models?

          • @chathy: Yep. I’ve got a 55n7 also, works fine. But I hear a bit of stuff on the Plex forum about not updating things, so we will see how much longer it lasts!

    Bah… Won't ship to Canberra. :(

I was looking to buy this 65" Q70T a few weeks ago too.

    • I'm in the same boat. I've bought a tv from there before with no issues, delivered to canberra. I rang them at the time their LG was going cheap and they explained that eBay plus deals get the delivery range tightened ?? Doesn't make much sense but okay. And this deal isn't even an eBay plus deal so it's all and all been a very frustrating experience. Their solution was to buy it with their address and they'll send it for an extra 45 dollars. But they didn't put it in writing so I didn't risk it.

      • this is a eBay plus deal

        • +1

Oh thats my bad. Says it in the title. The actually eBay listing doesn't state eBay plus but I'm assuming it would if I could get It delivered.

    edge lit though.

    • What is the big difference?

    • user comment from samsung australia page: Samsung have cheaped out on their 2020 models. All of the series from 2019 have taken a step back. The 2020 Q70T series uses an edge backlight instead of direct full array and the TU8000 series takes a step back with a 100hz processor instead of 200hz. I should have looked more closely before purchasing the Q70. It does get 2 stars as it’s not a bad TV, just not as good as I was expecting from previous years models. Read the fine print

basically, get the 2019 q70 if you can…

      • Q70T is edgelit - the next step up Q80T is full array I think. The Hisense Q8 would also be full array.

This or there LG nano cell. Seems a similar price.

  • Worst sales price listed on OzB for the 65" CX. Hopefully demand isn't too high leading into the major sales period, or we might be in for some pretty mediocre offerings then too.

  • Only consider QLED if your TV is going to be at a bright area, otherwise go for OLED. I have LG 65" OLED and Samsung 75" QLED (Q70) and I will not advise anyone to go for QLED over OLED.

    • why QLED not good in dark room?

      • +1

Rather that OLED is not great in bright rooms 🙂

      • +1

I am not sure but may be QLED background not black enough for dark room?

      • The problem with samsung qled is when you are watching it in a dark room it will be too bright for the eyes. If you are like me who enjoy a movie with all lights off stay away from qled. But if you watch tv with curtains up and lights on go qled for sure.

    • Although i don't necessarily disagree with you about going OLED, you're comparing it to Samsung entry level QLED.

      • -1

Yes i agree specially for 75" oled's are bloody expensive

After 2 weeks of researching and changing my mind constantly between qled/nano and OLED (do I need OLED…) Finally just bit the bullet and ordered a 65" BX From Appliances Central Ebay for $3078 delivered (shopback 3% cashback too).

Very excited, hopefully arriving by Friday! Will be my first ownership of an OLED TV and upgrading from my Hisense 55N7 so should be nice.

    • Hope your first OLED works out better than my first (and last) OLED (LG)… the dreaded burn-in.

      • the dreaded burn-in.

You have HTPC? Android box, gaming, etc?

      • what model and when bought it?
can you get it warranty - replace refund?

        what cause your burn in?
and how long you leave it on to get it?

yeah oled is good but that burn in is a concern..

    • +1

Congrats on the purchase! You're probably will never go back to non-OLEDs now👍😊. I myself have a 55" C7 from a couple years back and it's just spectacular!

    • I thought ShopBack was 1% for TVs?

      • Yea your right, just checked its only 1% no big deal, still happy with the purchase.

I went into GG as well before this and the lowest they would go was $3400.

    • How does it come to $ 3078?

After $300 off it comes to $3120 for me

      • +1

I used the POFF10 before it expired. The maximum discount on that was higher so actually worked out to be better than using the 15% off voucher.

        • Good one

        • I am almost on the verge of buying this except want to know your thoughts about the perceived burn in issues, what do you think of that?

          • +1

@OneIdiot: The newer models run pixel refresh cycles and the like to help prevent this. I honestly think that for standard mixed usage it should not be an issue.

Ratings.com have burn in tests with the B9 and others and it takes quite sometime even with it displaying a static image 24/7 to start image retention.

            • @ingster: I would agree on that and for general household use, it won't matter .cheers

  • +1

does the q8 65" apply for the %15 off?
it would be $1632, so close to the magical 1500 mark

    • +1

      yeah it does

      Hisense q8 $1632

      • +1

the more i search about it the more i hear about banding and clouding issues, jeez i guess there is no perfect tv

  • They now have the q80t 65” on eBay plus for $2395 when you use the voucher code. Is this a good deal or should I hold out for another week or 2?

    • I think Q80T currently around 2200 at Samsung EPP

      • How do I get Samsung epp

    • Where's the link for Q80T?

      • It’s on eBay. You need to have eBay plus and use the P15SAVE code

  • Last year we had x950g at 1998 this year the replacement x950h has gone up 1000 more, tf
