      same here, try change to Quiet mode as per comment above. Go to Dell power settings (not Windows)

      • Thanks, probably doesn't need it now. Just chatted with Dell support about the wobbly and sticky track pad (sent them videos), they are suggesting me to get a refund. They said they don't want me to have the same experience on this model (does that mean this particular model have wobbly track pad??).

          • @yellowfever: Yeah, that’s what I thought. But Dell response like every one of this model is like that. Anyway, I need to return it not just because of the wobbly trackpad, the click sometimes get stuck and I have to press a few times to get it unstuck. Oh well.

            • @akte: fair enough. In all the years I have used a laptop, the track pad is the least used part. I've always connected a wireless mouse
              but not a good response from Dell for saying every model is like that

              • @yellowfever: True, I wouldn’t noticed if my mouse still function. I was waiting for G304 to be delivered but it got delayed, so had to use the track pad. It’s alright, I’m sure there will always be another deal.

    Does anyone knows how to make the backlit lights stay on when plugged in?

    • I have no ideas, RGB light and Alienware Command Center is a bit of mystery to me, sometimes you can get it to work, and other time you can't. Lots of people complain about this as well, even for the Alienware Laptop. Software is a bit glitchy.

    • to add to this question, if someone knows how to keep it ON and change the colour that would be great

      • I only notice it will turn on when you restart your laptop or when you're playing games.

          the backlit only stays on if you are using the computer, but they will turn off automatically when the laptop is idle. I have been googling around but the current Bios does not have the setting to adjust the timer. sigh..

    • What kind of problem? Tried during the setup seems ok for me.

      • Its ok now. I had to delete a driver that seem to interfere with intel sst driver that makes the mic not working properly

      How do you exactly cancel the order? Ebay have listed it as sent, is there a time frame which you could cancel?
      I guess if better options appear within the time frame, would go straight ahead with the cancellation.

        You can always return the laptop within the first 30 days, all you'll need to do is send it back to them when it arrives, using one of their return labels. A courier will pick it up from your house and once it's been confirmed as in the couriers posession, they'll issue you a refund. I did this with my last purchase from Dell.

              Regarding your case, you can just cancel your order and you'll be refunded. Not sure about your giftcard though. However, I wouldn't cancel it, this is very good value for a RTX 2070 gaming laptop.

              • @F1ProjectOne: I had ordered directly with Dell, so yeah the result may differ but I'd think both methods would be treated the same.
                Though I do agree with you, I wouldn't cancel the order unless you have significant quality issues with the laptop you receive. You won't find a similarly spec'd laptop for the same price any time soon.

  • This is my first time ordering from Dell and it's been an underwhelming experience so far. One of the trackers says my order shipped two days ago but there's no tracking number, the other tracker says it's due Sep 2-3.

    • Yeah their service honestly sucks. The only good thing I've experienced from Dell so far is their 30 day return policy 😂

        • You can return it after using it. The last one I had was really unstable, lots of crashing, blue screens, windows freezing, etc. I returned it without issues.

          Mine has the same dates. Meanwhile ebay had a window 2 weeks earlier than those dates and people who ordered after me have received their orders

          Not sure how they decide the order they dispatch in..but count me in the group of people filthy with the service. Even worse reading peoples negative experiences with the laptop. Worried i will wait 1+ month for a poor quality product i spent $2k on. Need more positive experiences posted to make me feel better while waiting

    Worked for me has more details than the other tracking..I ordered on the 29th, didn't get confirmation until the 8th and the purchase date on the website is listed as the 4th. Status on the other site still says "Shipped - In transit to local hub"

  • Anyone is trying to get DDR4 16GB x2 for their new G7? I am looking at Crucial, HyperX or ADATA, but they are all slower than the one in the Dell? (2666 or 2400 vs 2933). Probably no difference in real life?

      How about this ram? Crucial Ballistix 32GB (2x 16GB) DDR4 3200MHz SODIMM Memory. $255. Probably one of the cheaper places I’ve seen it so far. From what I’ve read this will still be compatible but run at the lower 2933 speed. I’m one of the people who’ve had their laptop delayed, but looking around for ram for when it does come.
