I recon this is a better deal than 1215B in the other post, since it has a better CPU(D525 comparing to C50), 1 GB more ram and a better GPU(ION2 comparing to 6250) with only 30.00 extra

That's what I've got. Bought nearly a year ago from B&H as well. Very happy with it.

    • How much did you pay back then?

      • USD484 in Dec 2010, not including shipping.

    • I got this same laptop around 12 months ago, same store too. It is a fantastic machine and the only reason I upgraded was because I wanted something more game focussed. If you are looking for a 12 inch netbook, do not walk past this one.

I think this one has at least $200 more value.

  • 1215n > e350 1215b series, so if you get it for the same price or lower than the AMD version then its a win.

AMD are suppose to be champions on cheap computers.

  • This does indeed look very nice. Would definitely take this over a netbook, bit bigger screen & res but still very light and quite cheap too. The half decent graphics chip is a bonus :)

you would take a netbook over a netbook? needs a xzibit here.

      • This is not a "netbook" really. 2GB, 12" 720p screen, etc. Proper laptop specs to me. An not overly light at 1.5kg.
When the term "netbook" was coined, it meant 7" screen and a small SSD.

        • what is the definition of netbook?
so todays 10.1" 160gb netbook cant be called netbooks?

        • Netbook can mean whatever you or ASUS want.
I'm just saying this has gone so far beyond the original one that the term has lost the original meaning and become more a marketing category.
This could easily replace an old 12" Lenovo/Sony/Toshiba ultralight in terms of function, though not build quality.

lol you should bring this up with ASUS then cause they are using this term for their eeepc line.

  • I thought ION2 was on par with 6250?

  • If only this has a built-in 3g modem….

  • What's the battery life like on these things?

    • Around 6hrs

  • it's not really a bid deal since I gotta add $109 tax and it ends up $477.86!!! (shipping fee is $68.71)

sr my mistake, I chose Austria instead of AUSTRALIA :))

  • Thought I'd missed out when the special vanished yesterday but it's back up now. I'm visiting the US in a few weeks so free shipping too. Great deal, thanks!
