Looks decent… Just note that the CPU/GPU combo isn't the best value for gaming… perhaps for photo/video editing?
For gaming, you'd be better off cutting the CPU budget with a Ryzen 3 3300x and using the savings on say a GeForce 1660/1660S.

Edit - whelp, looks like you can't even get the Ryzen 3 3300x at RRP any more… so probably not worth downgrading the CPU (maybe a Ryzen 5 1600 AF if its still in stock?).

no love for 3100 at under 150 that can clock to 4.3ghz on stock cooler?

      • +1

Ooh, that's a pretty good deal. Looks like 3100 prices have dropped while 3300x prices have gone up.

I feel what you're offering is a fair price considering assembly and warranty, speed of delivery and flexibility in part requests. Not everyone wants to figure out how to build their own rig and many SI charge far more using parts that don't make sense.

But I do like seeing the parts cost so I've listed as close as I could part for part. I haven't thrown in RGB RAM cause it doesn't add to performance. All parts are in stock from Shopping Express and PC Byte (obviously there's cheaper places for certain parts) to minimise shipping costs.

I think it is important to factor in shipping cost for all the items. Imagine if you buy parts from different vendors, you will be paying possibly 10% more in shipping alone.

      • +9

Which is why I've kept it to only two vendors and stuck to Aussie retailers. Obviously shipping costs differ for everyone but it's going to be around $40-50 total which is closer to 5% in this case. I could get a 1650 Super and Versa H18 case for $30 extra at Shopping Express making it a one retailer build and probably match Titan Tech's shipping cost.

I haven't thrown in RGB RAM cause it doesn't add to performance.

      Blasphemy!

  • Yep. Agree

  • +2

Everywhere seems to mention the 1650 GPU but in the parts selection on the website it says standard 2060 6gb.. could I confirm which GPU this would come with if choosing 2060?

    Cheers

    • +2

Lol, you're right, would be the deal of the year if it was… The default CPU is an i5 10400 too.

    • +4

he updated the site and didnt even say thanks LOL

      • give him a break lol the details he posted here remain the same.
probs busy building his previous orders ..

  • +3

Standard 2060 With i5 10th gen? Amazing deal, Titan tech listened, well done!!

  • I haven't had to build a new PC for a few years now. Is NVMe the new norm for the HDD ?

    • -5

The difference isn't that noticeable, but it's definitely worth the extra $20 for a budget NVME drive like the sn550 or a2000.
More of a future proofing thing, they're becoming standard and as they do more applications will expect that sort of speed to be available.

    • Any SSD is new norm. But HDD still cheaper for hoarding.

  • +1

So is it Standard 2060 With i5 10th gen or 3600 with 1060?

  • How does this compare to that techfast 999 deal? Is PSU a issue here? Looks a very good deal

  • What’s the best way to contact you for a custom build, keen to swap out the NVMe for a SATA SSD.

  • -5

    $1,039.00

    CPU: Standard i5 10400

    GPU: Standard 2060 6GB

    SSD: Standard (500GB)

    HDD: None

    Watercooling: Standard (None)

    Really?

    • +5

      What's your point??

    • this is just nitpicking now

  • How do you add Windows 10 as an option? Doesn't seem to be an option and I can't find it on the site. P.S. what's the going price for Win 10 these days on new PC builds?

  • +4

very bad deal if it is 1650.

  • +1

Titan tech don't seem to have great value anyway

  • +5

1650 is a great budget card for decent fps! But the 1k build is a little expensive using 1650

  • I have to disagree with some of the comments saying they should use a 3300x. Given the relatively higher prices of the 3300x, the 3600 offers far better value in terms of price per core.

However, using a 1650 instead of a 1650 super is just stupid.

    • Yeah or even an RX 570.

      • RX 570 would be a pretty bad choice as well. Yes, it offers slightly better performance than a basic 1650 (~10% iirc), but it's a 200 watt card instead of a 75 watt card, so it's extremely expensive to use.

        • +1

200W? Nooooo. I have an RX 570 and at peak it draws 120W and undervolted it's more like 100W. It isn't THAT bad.

          • @Void: I don't know why you think it's a 120W card, but it's not. The peak draw is up to 105 watts above that.

You're probably not using it anywhere close to its max workload to be drawing such little power.

            • @iseeyou1312: I put the card through Unigine Valley Extreme and it didn't break 100W. Mind you it was a somewhat golden chip and undervolted 200mV.

        • +2

Hardware unboxed has a great video looking at this, noting that the comment regarding wattage is practically pointless: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um63-_YPNcA

Particularly at a budget level, we honestly do not care for wattage, as 10% performance at sub $200 levels is WAY more important than a piddly wattage difference (especially spread over a year, its completely negligible). Assuming that wattage is so important for you, I'd question why you'd go for a desktop at all if it was that sensitive.

    • Plus aren't some mobos going to be compatible with the next gen of ryzen? Could be buying a cheaper ryzen now and knowing you can upgrade later is enough.

    • Sorry, didn't realise the 3300x had gone up in price instead of down like all the others. Corrected myself right after I posted :)

  • It'd be great if we could post how many 3.5 inch hard drives can fit into the included cases. The answer is usually zero, but that'd be nice to know too. There are some of us who data hoard and game.

  • +2

TechFast deal seems better value for gaming

    • Agree, just their website was putting i5 and 2060 which confused people
