GALAX GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB (1-Click OC) V2 w/ R6S Gold Edition $599 Delivered @ Centrecom

160

I've seen the V1 for $549 + delivery at Shopping Express so I'm assuming this is a good deal.

The drawback is that it has only one DisplayPort, one HDMI and one DVI-D.

I'd probably recommend a 5700 XT for around this price though if you have no use for CUDA, RTX or NVENC.

Bonus: Comes with Rainbow Six Siege Gold Edition. You can claim it here.

  • What's the difference between v1 and v2?

I was lucky to get the one from the PcByte Amazon deal a few weeks ago, pretty sure it's v2.

    Any major difference?

    • +3

RGB! I will look into heatsink weight and clock speeds and come back.

Edit: Well for a start it's white only :/

Having trouble digging up some of these details. As far as I can tell the only difference is the LED.

Okay going through Amazon it seems that they are both 748g, so there are no obvious advantages.

      • V1 had a pretty good PCB for a 2060 super, I'm not sure if there's actually any revision.
        Perhaps check the die?

Really confused about why there needs to be a revision

You shouldn't really use weight as a measure of cooling capacity since extra heatpipes don't add much weight. The difference between two versions could be thermal pads on the memory or VRM. Or it could be that mounting pressure is different or the VRM controller or fets are different.

That said, the V1 is probably adequate. It's just my qualms about generally inaccurate comparisons.

        • True, comparing the same brand though chances are the V2 in't going to have a worse weight:cooling ratio. Never heard of complaints with either, so I think the V2 is just an LED version, but calling it "V2" seems a bit excessive.

  • I want to use DLSS 2.0 in cyberpunk and death stranding so I'll get this over the 5700xt. Thanks.

    • Bold move, banking on the implementation of a feature. Hope it pays off big time :)

I'll be crying with my RX 5700 lol.

It's pretty safe bet - DLSS is going to be a big performance booster for PC while we play catchup to next gen consoles. Seems safe that developers who want to perform the best to implement it.

        • I was just looking at comparisons between RDNA's FidelityFX CAS and DLSS 2.0 and I can't tell the difference. Am I missing something or are we just ignoring AMD's alternative? It looked pretty good in Death Stranding.

          • @Void: I'm not aware of FidelityFX CAS personally. I'd probably research professional comparisions between the 2 before I'd comment but I don't really have the time.

            • @Kill Joy:

According to Ars, while DLSS 2.0 improves performance on the RTX 2060 Super, AMD’s FidelityFX CAS apparently improves performance more, with better visual fidelity.

WTF. Surely it's just this game?

              • @Void: Sounds good. Can you send through any articles you've found if they are reliable? I'll do some reading tonight maybe.

                  Tom's Hardware

TH claims FidelityFX causes jaggies and didn't improve performance. I'm having a hard time finding out who to believe.

                  • @Void: It's probably going to come down to how well developers implement it - and knowing Nvidia, they'll wave wads of cash in developers faces to give DLSS a first class experience over fidelityFX. Time will tell.

                    • @Kill Joy: Maaan AMD's always being bullied. First (I'm sure there's a lot more before this too) Intel paying laptop manufacturers to deliberately worsen the build quality of their Ryzen 4000 laptops, to NVIDIA forcing devs to make their games "NVIDIA, the way it's meant to be played."

                  • @Void: https://youtu.be/9ggro8CyZK4

Anyone who thinks FidelityFX is better than DLSS 2.0 has rocks in their head, or is only looking at cherry-picked sections of screen shots, probably with a resolution mismatch.

Image sharpening makes aliasing worse, DLSS 2.0 solves aliasing while adding detail with fewer issues alongside this.

                    • @jasswolf: I'm not seeing FFX CAS there. I asked reddit and got this response which seems to refer to your video:

Can’t really claim it’s worse when it’s not even being tested as a DLSS competitor. Narrative is fully on DLSS side at the moment, to the point where CAS is suspiciously completely out of the picture in some instances (like Digital Foundry’s comparative). Moreover, they seem to be too focused on selling the idea that DLSS is “better than native”, which is marketing speak. Anything introduced in an image which is NOT in the ground truth (the image rendered at native resolution) is an artifact.

                      • @Void: That's a ridiculous definition of ground truth. The goal is to in-paint more detail than native because there are losses due to aliasing and related approximations.

Watch the video, and always use a grain of salt when it comes to /r/AMD, /r/NVIDIA and even /r/hardware when the kids and 'enthusiasts' jump in.

I've been playing death stranding on the 2060 super @4k with everything on Max.. Dlss does an amazing job. Consistent above 60fps.

      • Sounds great! Maybe this could work as a bandaid solution for terribly optimized games like every Ubisoft game ever.

  • Umart have these in stock currently on sale at the same $599 price. https://www.umart.com.au/Galax-GeForce-RTX-2060-Super-1-Clic…

    • Shipping.

      • +1

Suits those near a Umart store who prefer to pick it up same day rather than wait for interstate shipping.

  • $589 + shipping https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/galax-geforce-rtx-206…

I assume it's the same? Not sure what TecLab Lite means

    • No LED, and also shipping costs. Does come with Siege tho.

      • No LED might be better. Assuming they have the exact same performance not being able to turn off the white LED light might be annoying.

        • Agree. I find not being able to turn off the led annoying.

Have to say, the death stranding bundle was much better value than seige!

          • @skysky: Oww you can't turn it off? Gotta get crafty ;)

            • @Void: You can't without replacing the fans, might be possible to remove a wire but that could be considered tampering with the card and might interfere with warranty.

              • @Rauland: The backside appears to not have a "Warranty Void if Removed" sticker on one of the images, if there really isn't that'd be pretty good of Galax. I'd think it pretty bad to not offer an option to turn the LED off, maybe there's a switch on the card?

      • Surely most of these cards from most places should come with Siege right :o

        • I think you're right. I believe you can claim here.

  • +1

Cheers op, ordered for my budget-ish gaming build.

  • Anybody using this card right now? How are the temps and sound under load?

    • Also interested to know how this one goes. Anyone?
